It was a warm afternoon and Reign is sitting on her swivel chair facing Min in her office.
"You really think you can?" Min said while eating the Doritos she found in my desk drawer.
"I can. I'm sure of it." I said while looking at all the paperworks I should finish.
"I don't think there's a chance." she said as if his case wasn't really that important.
"There is. You're just saying that because your favorite patient is almost okay now. What's his name again? Jevi? Gerv? Gevu?" I said while looking at her pigging out.
Aiisshh... This girl really don't look and act like a doctor when we're alone.
"It's Gerwin, Reign. And yes, he's almost okay and soon will be fine. It's because I'm such a great doctor." she said while typically laughing like her crazy patient.
My phone beeped showing that I have an appointment.
"Hey, what time is your appointment with your Gerwin?" I asked her.
"Hmm, I actually had it like an hour ago. Why?" she asked.
"Can you be a dear and do this for me? I have an appointment with Nathaniel." I said with pleading puppy eyes.
"Ew Reign! STOB IT! It's so gross!" she groaned.
I continued what I'm doing and she gave up.
"Okay! Okay! Since I'm such a great person and I'm really so great and awesome, I'll do it for you. Just stop!" she said while imitating a disgusted look.
"Thanks Minie dear." I said in an aegyo tone.
"Yuck bitch! Never do that again and go to your Nathaniel." she said while pushing me out of the door.
I laughed at her reaction and went to the top floor.
The guard looked at my ID and scanned something on his clipboard before letting me in. I walked through the hallway and stopped in front of room no. 21856 where Nathaniel is.
I knocked at the door before swiping my card to open the metal door covered in rubber cushions.
I entered the room and saw Nathaniel sitting on the hospital bed playing the song that I thought him on his guitar.
"Oh hey there doc Reign." Nathaniel quickly turned to me with a warm smile.
"Hello. You didn't notice me enter your room?" I asked.
"Uuhh, actually, no. I was too busy practicing" he said shyly.
"I see. Well then, what's been up with you this week?" I asked (part of my job)
"Well, pretty much nothing." he said shrugging.
I sat on the chair beside his bed and before I could say anything, he spoke.
" I missed you doc." he said. I was shocked and didn't know what to say.
"Its been a whole week since you last visited me. I really missed you." he said before putting aside his guitar and moved closer to me.
"I miss the check ups and I also miss it when you ask me how I feel, if I'm fine, you know?" he said looking into my eyes.
"Didn't doctor Min check on you the other day? I guess she asked you those questions right?" I said.
"She did but she seems to be in a hurry. She stayed here for forty five minutes only. Not like you, taking hours just to talk to me like you really care for me." Nathaniel said still trying to get closer to me.
"I do care for you Nathaniel." I was shocked when I realized what just came out of my mouth.
"Really doc? You care for me?" he said while leaning closer like a child asking for candy.
I quickly composed myself and answered.
"Yes because you're my patient and I'm your doctor." I said in a matter of factly.
"Me too Reign. I care for you." he leaned closer to me before slowly caressing my face.
"What are you doing Nathaniel?!" I said while trying to get out of his touch.
"Nothing Reign." he giggled as his nose skimmed my jawline.
I managed to get out of his tight grasp and stood a meter away from him.
"Well then I gotta be going. That's the end of today's appointment." I said while fixing my coat.
He started to laugh like a lunatic right after I thought his madness won't hit him today.
"But doc..." he then changed into a child-like voice.
"I have to leave. I have a lot to do. Bye Nathaniel. See you next week." I said before walking into the door.
As I touched the doorknob, I heard a screaming, crying, and laughing Nathaniel. And just when I'm about to close the door, I heard him shout.
"I love you doctor Reign!" you then closed the door.
You smiled after hearing those words but it instantly faded when you remembered that you work as a doctor in a mental hospital and you clearly can't fall for your patient.
