Hi! So, this is my first time on Wattpad writing-wise, however, it's not my first time writing. I usually write over on FanFiction, but I just recently started thinking, "Hey, why not expand to different platforms?" Honestly, I don't know why I have never done it in the past, but yeah. Here I am now!
So this is a little one-shot series I am starting on here and a few other places. It is basically a one-shot series based off of different songs that I come across and think I can write for. Some are more loosely based than others, but the song is there none-the-less. I'm NOT taking requests for it right now, but if anybody has any suggestions for songs I would be more than glad to take a listen and maybe I'll write for it. Otherwise, if you guys have any suggestions for fandoms, I'm all ears, however, I don't really have too much time to get into BRAND new fandoms right now, so if I don't know it or haven't heard of it, most likely than not I won't be writing about it.
Other than that, I won't be doing too many author's notes like this unless I need to address any questions, comments, or concerns that you all might have.
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!
DISCLAIMER: I do NOT own any of DC Comic's material with Batman, nor do I own the song "Father" by Demi Lovato.

Father, I wanna say thank you
Even if I don't understand...Growing up in the Wayne household had never been easy for you.
You were adopted into the family at the age of 16 from the orphanage that you were sent to after the death of your mother.
You never really knew who your father was when you were little. Every time you would ask your mother, she would simply say that it didn't matter. You had her. You didn't need him.
Your mother was a proud, independent woman. So after she passed, and your father showed up at the orphanage to collect you, you realized almost immediately why she never said a word about him.
He was rich. Filthy rich. Wayne was not a name that people took lightly. He was powerful— a playboy type that you had watched control the media in this small, rotting town for years now.
But she was right. You didn't need him. It was no secret that you two struggled. Living was definitely not easy going from paycheck to paycheck. It was difficult to make ends meet most months, but you two managed. You might not have gotten all of the small, insignificant things that all the other kids had while growing up, but that never really mattered much to you anyways. You saw how hard your mother worked to support the two of you, so you never really pushed matters such as those. You had what you needed, and that was enough.
You went your whole life not needing your father. You never hated him— neither did your mother— but then again, you never really felt any sort of emotion towards him. You had no connection to him. He was just a miniscule thought that popped up in your head from time to time, never really holding much importance but still being there nonetheless.
So after moving in with him and his big, makeshift family, you found that the disconnection you always had towards the idea of your father didn't really change. You two didn't talk beyond what was necessary and you rarely saw him due to his busy schedule.
His sons were, unsurprisingly, no different. They were all busy doing their own thing, which was fine in retrospect. But after a couple of years living alone in the same household day in and day out, it began to get to you. You never thought that you would feel this way. You were so used to the idea that you were the outsider of the house. You came in too late. The only reason they took you in to begin with was out of pity that your mother passed and you had nobody left. After all, nobody wants that on their conscience.
