Neku's Point of View
Following Joshua towards Cat Street, I scanned the area quickly for Noise before turning back towards Joshua. Internally, I hoped no Noise appeared. I was tired, way too tired to put up a decent fight. If Joshua and I are lucky, we'll get to Cat Street without any unnecessary interactions...
"Neeeekuuuu~!"
I jumped, hearing my name being called in a taunting manner. Glancing up, Joshua was about five inches away from me, a taunting smirk on his lips.
"Come on Neku, this is your part of the deal." Joshua spoke up." Quit dragging behind, dear."
"Don't... call me 'dear'..." I mumbled.
Joshua didn't respond, and only seemed to be gazing at me intently. Slightly uncomfortable, my gaze flicked towards a nearby building. In my peripheral vision, I noticed Joshua shifting his gaze a little. He backed away a small bit, his eyes scanning me up and down.
"Neku, are you feeling alright? You're a bit more pale than you usually are." Joshua inquired.
I hadn't expected that kind of question from him. He seemed.... Genuinely concerned, I guess?
"I'm fine.... Just a bit tired, I guess...."
Even as I spoke, I felt like Joshua didn't fully believe my response for some reason.
"If you say so.... If you need a break, just tell me. We HAVE been fighting Noise most of the day."
Joshua watched as I nodded in response to him, then continued towards Cat Street. Following him, I tried my best to match his pace as he moved along quickly, but I easily fell behind him. Attempting to move quicker only made my head throb, but I fought that pain. It feels like... I'm drowning and failing to save myself.
...
...
...
I can't move.
I saw my vision flicker in front of me as a wave of dizziness hit me like a brick. Bringing my hand to my head, I tried to hold myself upright.
Over the ringing in my ears, I barely managed to hear footsteps, rapidly approaching footsteps. I registered that hands were on my shoulders. Whose, though, I couldn't identify.
"Neku, what's wrong?"
Joshua....
"I-I'm f-fine...."J...ust... diz...zy-"
My words stopped abruptly as another wave of dizziness washed over my. My body betrayed me. Moments later, I lost my balance.
Not even a second later, I felt something warm catch me as darkness took over everything.
Joshua's Point of View
"Neku?" I frowned as I received no response.
Holding him up with one arm, I checked the time on my phone. It's only 13:32, so it's still too early yet for the day to be over. The day doesn't end until 18:00, so why....?
Sighing, I lowered Neku to the ground before I picked him up again in a position I could easily carry him in. Noticing his headphones starting to fall, I gently adjusted them back onto his head before continuing towards the café. When any Noise approached, I erased them with only a flick of my hand.
