The Beginning

It was a normal day in the Allen house. I woke up and opened the blinds until the sun shines bright in my eyes. I smelled something amazing and went downstairs. My dad had cooked eggs, bacon, toast, and much more. When I went into the kitchen he said,"Morning Emily." I replied tired,"Morning dad. What's the occasion as I gestured towards the food. He smiled and said,"No occasion needed to make a big breakfast. I kissed him on the cheek as I walked to grab some food. I smiled when the TV got interrupted by the news team. I turned around in the chair and turned the volume up. The news person said,"Attention everyone, there is a meta-human in town, terrorizing the city. Flash if you hear this, please come." I looked at my dad and said,"Go." He replied,"But I told you I'd be here for your birthday." I sad said,"You'll be back soon. Go." He nodded. When he superspeeded out of the apartment all the papers went flying. I ate my breakfast and when I finished my dad was back from "work".  He said,"Oh, I'm hungry." I laughed and said,"Didn't you already eat?" He said going to the kitchen,"I've been running." I laughed and went upstairs to change. When I came up stairs my mom kissed me on the cheek and said,"Remember Cisco is coming to pick you up today." I turned around to look at her and said,"The normal way." She replied,"Ya." I nodded and went into my room to change. Once I finished I went back downstairs. I walked over to my dad, hugged him and my mom, and went downstairs to the ground floor and met up with my friends to go to school. My one friend Isabella asked,"So did your parents do anything special for your 13th birthday?" I replied,"Ya my dad made a huge breakfast." "Wow, big huh," said Eliza, my other friend. I nodded and said looking at the building,"Wouldn't it be cool if we had normal lives? Not superhero parents. I mean you guys have powers and I'm a normal human, not a meta-human." I looked down and said,"Well maybe for my birthday I could..." I was interrupted by a boy that knocked me over. I said,"Hey watch it buddy." My friends helped me up. He replied,"Sorry, didn't see you." I responded annoyed,"Clearly." My jacket had ripped and so had my jeans. I was bleeding by the rip in my jeans. I started to rub the rubble off of my when me and the boy locked eyes. I said,"What's your name?" He replied,"Adam and yours?" "Emily,"I said dusting the last bit of rubble off of my jacket. He said,"Where's a pretty girl like you going?" I laughed and said,"School," gesturing to the big school building down the way. He looked to where I was pointing and said,"Same here." We started walking and I asked,"I've never seen you around school before." He put his hand in his pocket and put his other hand in his brown lushes hair. I had to admit he was good looking, but definitely not my type. He looked at me and I looked at me him until Eliza said,"Ok Em, I think I heard the second bell so lets hurry up. Eliza and Isabella pulled me back school. Before I could say bye to Adam Eliza said,"What do you think your doing? That guy is a stranger." Isabella said,"Ya a hot stranger. I mean did you see Em's eyes, you could see the love in their eyes." I punched Isabella as Eliza laughed her head off. I walked with them until I we got to the middle of the quad. I was talking to them as my friend came up to me and said,"Hey, what's up. Haven't talked to you in a long time. How's your dad." I turn around and reply,"Hey good to see you too, ya it's been forever. He's good, but a lot of drama." He said,"Good, but..." he looked behind me and said,"Look who it is, Adam Smith. I hear he's not a good kid, been to detention several times." I turn around and then he starts blabbing about how bad he is. I recognize Adam and yell out to him,"Hey Adam!" He looks at me and starts walking over. Tim grabbed my arm and says,"What are you doing, are you crazy! Why would you invite Adam Smith over here?!" I said,"Because he's nice, have you ever even talked to him before?" Tim replies,"Uhh, no! He is the baddest kid in school and you don't want to get involved with him." I hit Tim as Adam comes straight to our group. Adam says,"Hey Emily and Emily's friends. I wanted to say sorry for bumping into you earlier. I didn't see you....and...." I interrupt him,"It's fine, I'm ok just my knee bleeding." I look down at my knee and gesture towards it. "Oh well, sorry, can I umm.... ummm... walk you to class?" Tim looks Adam and then at me. Tim says,"Were walking her." I say,"Adam can walk me, I'll see you guys second period?" Adam puts his hand out and I take it. I turn to my friends and say,"Bye guys." Adam walks me to my class.
