Kaysen's P.O.V
"Get ready!" my aunt yelled from downstairs. I heard her coming up so I sighed, readjusting my tie, "Cotillion starts soon and I would like to go early. Becca and Jim will be there and ever though you're on bad terms with his parents doesn't mean I am and you will be nice today."
She quickly entered my room. She leaned up against the door frame as she stared at my reflection in the mirror with admiration. I wish she could always look at me like she was proud.
"You look wonderful" she smiled as she smoothly straughted her way over to me. She placed her soft, limb fingers on my shoulder. She smiled up at me and I returned it weakly. Even though I'm not in it this year doesn't mean I won't enjoy this year. Plus I have an agenda of my own since Raelynn won't talk or even do the project with me. Is Lawson that important to her? "No, a guy is never that important, but her future might be."
Did I say that out loud? Damn it, I should really quit doing that around her, she's going to know my whole personal life. Her hand left my shoulder and she walked over to my nightstand where a picture of my mom laid a rest. I knocked it over on the annivesary of her death. I hate thinking about it. It was a dark period of time... Especially for my father, and that's why I live with my aunt. Not that I mind it at all.
"I miss her" she said softly.
"Not now Annabell, we have to go" I spoke sternly, giving myself a once over in the mirror. I was just going simple with a plain but classy all black tuxedo.
She sat the picture back down gently and turned back to me and smiled weakly, "she'd be so proud of you."
"Please, not today" I sighed at her again but more sternly this time.
She huffed at me with her usual attitude, "whatever. Anyways I'm seriously tired of hearing girls sneaking out in the middle of the night. It's been happening for three days. There were two one night! Don't come up with an excuse, it's obvious what you were doing. The walls aren't that thick."
"I'm sorry, I've just been.." I sighed looking for the right word. Damn, I am sighing a lot. That has got to end. I need my ego and reputation back and today will help me get it, "stressed."
"I understand but at least ask them to leave more quietly. Some people have work in the morning" she smiled sweetly at me before adjust my tie.
She wore a plain gold dress that had a big bow on her breast area. She could actually pull it off ever though she was in her 40's. She's defiantly not young but her beauty has done a remarkable job of holding on. Her makeup was done perfectly along with her dark brown curly hair.
"Thank you" I leaned down and kissed her cheek, "you look marvelous Aunt Annabelle."
"Oh stop! You're gonna make me blush!" She chuckled before leaving my rooms. I quickly followed her. I guess it's Cotillion time. Oh this night will not be one to forget. I smirked at myself like the loser I am before catching up with Annabelle.
.......
Raelynn's P.O.V
We all swept along the dance floor, having small talk and a small dances with each other. It's not even a hour in and I can already smell the drama.
Suddenly before I realized, Axel had my arm. He pulled me into a dark closet and flipped the light on.
"So" he smirked at me, "do we have a deal?"
"No" I gritted my teeth, "there's no way I'm doing that! That's crossing the line, even for you and me. Plus god so help me you actually follow through, I will destroy you."
