Chapter Two

He burst out and turned to see the spindle.

It wasn't moving.

"Julia, please, PLEASE don't do this. Please. It is 12. Let's go to sleep," Jake yawned and went back to sleep.

I saw it... It was moving. . . And you know what I saw? A fairy. A.... Fairy. Moving the spindle and dozens of mermaids by the fairy if they were guarding her. What was it? Was it my dream? I wondered hard and I went back to sleep.

Oh! I forgot to tell you this but my name is Julia!

The next morning. . .

"Julia, wake up!" Jake shouted from downstairs. Jake always gets up early. He wakes up at 5 and goes outside to run a mile. Then he comes back and takes a shower. After that, he wakes us up. He has to go to school at 6:20. He is in high school now. Well, I am in middle school.

I kicked out my blanket to my side and yawned. Then I stretched and got up. I hurried downstairs and said goodbye to mom. My Mom goes to work and Jake makes us our breakfast. And Karen sleeps until her babysitter comes.

I turned around to see the spindle. It looked beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. And there it was. The sharpest needle I have ever seen. Just then, I saw a fairy again. It was the same fairy from yesterday. She was sitting on a stool and she looked very sad. I was about to touch the fairy and then, my brother shouted,"Julia!!! Hurry! We are going to be late!!"

"Coming~!" I replied and hurried downstairs.

On the kitchen table were bacon and eggs, orange juice, strawberries and whipped cream, and a pancake.

"Yum!" I cried looking at all the dishes.

My brother is so good at cooking and he said he wants to be a chief when he goes to college. I hurried and ate all of the food.

"Jake! Can I use your small skateboard, today?" I asked, jumping on my chair.

"Yeah! I'll ride the roller blades, then! Hurry! Let's go!" Jake cried in a rush.

Just then, "Jake! I forgot my lunch box!" I cried.

"I will go with you! I know where I put them," Jake cried.

"Ok! Thanks!"

We hurried down and got our lunch box. Then... "Crash! Boom! Creek!! Puff! "Crash!!!!" Suddenly, it stopped.

"W... What. . What was that?" I asked trembling and shaking all over. I gulped. I kept shivering. I couldn't talk. What was this?

"Julia, it came from our room," Jake said. I couldn't hear him. My mind was full of wonder. Was it because of the spindle? Was it an earthquake!?

"Julia!!"

I was back to normal. All the questions become to disappear.

"Yeah!?" I asked.

"I thought you've gone crazy! So many times I called you and you didn't answer until now!"

"I'm so sorry!" I cried.

"Ok. Let's go to your room. When we stepped forward, Karen suddenly came to us crying. Then I realized that Karen was all alone upstairs right next from my room! I hugged her right away. I knew how she was scared. It must have been so scary to her at a young age. Then, we all stepped forward and slowly walked towards my room. Once again, the questions filled my head. What was that big shake? We got in front of my room. The door was closed. Karen holding my hand, Jake holding my other hand, Jake opened the door. There sudden came a gigantic blow of a wind. We suddenly flew backwards. We actually FLEW. I was so surprised that I couldn't think of anything until we hit the wall.

"Ouch!!" Karen cried.

"Are you okay?" Jake asked and bent over to look. Then, I glanced at my room directly. I was so surprised that I couldn't talk. My heart started to beat hard and fast. I froze. I lifted my hand slowly which was shaking so hard. I pointed at my room with my hands shaking like an earthquake. Jake and Karen saw me and turned immediately in the direction that I was pointing at. Their jaws dropped down. Now I'll tell you what I've seen. First of all, do not be shocked. Second of all, you will be getting used to it. And third of all, you won't be surprised as I am because I actually saw this in my life but you didn't. Okay. So what me, Karen, and Jack saw was, a... big....... black................ dragon..........................
