it had become a routinely practice.
kihyun slung his haversack over his shoulders, whistling softly as he picked up the bouquet of flowers.
he had wrapped them neatly in pretty parchment paper, and the flowers remained fresh and slightly scented. he placed the bouquet close to his chest, the faint smell of the carnations occasionally reminding him of how quick time had flew by, and how it had almost been three years since his mother's death.
kihyun made his way to the bus stop, walking past the flowershop. and like any normal person, he glanced into the shop, flitting his eyes away at once as soon as he saw changkyun.
"great, i've let a stranger steal my heart."
while waiting for the bus, he subconsciously did all that he could for changkyun to notice that he was standing at the bus stop- right outside the flowershop.
a sudden chime of bells caused kihyun to look up from his phone, bracing for a certain someone with a certain voice and a cerain sweet, sweet smell-
"hey flowerboy," changkyun said slowly, noticing the strange reaction he had gotten from kihyun, in which he glanced at the floor immediately, not wanting to make any eye contact with changkyun.
in that moment, a slight breeze blew, sending a few dried leaves and flowers that once dangled precariously from the trees and their branches fluttering down slowly, sweeping from side to side, following the direction of the wind, before finally resting.
that is, resting on changkyun's head.
this peculiar flower was small, and it floated gracefully, landing atop his head without his notice.
kihyun chuckled softly at how unaware changkyun was. he went on his tiptoes slightly, enabling himself to see the top of changkyun's head, where that pretty bright yellow flower, vibrant with life, laid. with his left hand resting on changkyun's right shoulder for balance, kihyun puffed his cheeks and blew the flower off changkyun's head.
changkyun laughed softly.
"bus?"
"yeah, im on my way to visit my mother," kihyun mumbled hastily, his smile dropping at the mention of his mother.
"wait-" changkyun muttered, before turning on his heels and dashing towards the flowershop.
seconds later, a panting changkyun emerged from the flowershop, stripped of his florists' apron and a beautifully crafted bouquet of chrysanthemum flowers in hand.
jogging towards kihyun who gaped at the sight, changkyun held out the bouquet of flowers, calling out, "for your mother."
and before kihyun could graciously reach out both his hands to accept the flowers, just as the other had expected him to, changkyun grabbed at the older's hands, pulling kihyun towards him.
and a still little put of breath, changkyun let out a breathy whisper-
"c-can i come with?"
