No one there was normal.

Destiny, Chris and Gajdesh joked and laughed and talked almost for the whole time. Almost. In the middle of homeroom, one of the girls at the pink table sprouted wings from her back. Destiny screamed, putting a hand over her mouth. "What the hell!?" Chris and Gajdesh said, looking at the pink-and-white wings from the girls back.
Mr. Goméz looked up from his desk and, once he saw the pink-and-white wibgs, he shook his and sighed like this happened a lot. "Michelle, put your wings away. You're freaking people out." Mr. Goméz said, looking at Destiny, Gajdesh and Chris when he said the last sentence.
The girl, Michelle, nodded and put her pink-and-white wings away. Destiny sat in her chair, panting and staring at the girl with wide eyes. What the hell just happened?, they all thought. "Did she just...?" Destiny asked, but trailed off, not wanting to believe that just happened. "Yep." Gajdesh answered for her. Destiny nodded and stopped staring at the girl.
She looked at her two friends. "So..." Chris said, having nothing to talk about. "That just happened." Gajdesh said. "Yep." Destiny said. An awkward silence hovered over the table of friends. "So, you'll like pizza or..?" Gajdesh asked, Destiny laughed and grinned. "Okay!" Mr. Goméz called, standing up. "Get your stuff together. It's first period." The sounds of chairs scraping the floor echoed across the floor as students got up and got their stuff together.
I hope today goes well..., Destiny thought as she, Chris and Gajdesh pulled their schedules out to see what their first class was.
