Poppy exited out of her colorful pod, feeling sad and gloomy. For it was Mother's Day.

Poppy walked with her head down and her shoulders slumped as she tried to hold back hot tears from spilling out of her pink eyes.

Poppy always dreaded Mothers Day.  When she was about a little younger that a year old, her mom was taken by a Bergan. Ever since the queen was old enough to understand the day that all of the trolls celebrate their Mothers, she would always feel down in the blues.

Poppy always wanted to have a have a good mother daughter relationship with her mom, she wanted a mom who would care for her and love her, but it never got to happen.

The former princess gently wiped a tear off of her warm pink cheek. She put her head down lower. She didn't want her now loyal subjects to know she was crying. It was unlike Poppy to cry.

All of the other trolls knew about Poppy's mother. They also knew that Poppy was always depressed on Mother's Day and wanted her space. The fellow trolls respected that.

When it came to sad events like this, she would always run to the spiritual troll Creek. But now because of him betraying the fellow trolls, she doesn't want anything to do with such a foolish troll.

Poppy was disgusted that she used to like such a selfish troll. The near thought of the traitor made her cringe of disgust.

But ever since after the events of Poppy and Branch saving not only her beloved friends, but all of the trolls and the Bergans, she had started developing feelings for the blue male.

Poppy was debating in her mind if she should go visit the now happy troll at his survival bunker or if she should turn around and return home.

Her thoughts paused when she felt the ground underneath slide as she began to trip. Poppy closed her eyes and flinched, knowing she was about to fall.

But once she was about to hit the ground, she didn't feel like she was falling anymore. She opened her eyes to see that she was in Branch's arms in a bridal style position.

" Oh, Hello Branch," Poppy mumbled quietly, still a little shaky from the close to a hard fall she had just encountered.

" Are you okay Poppy? Are you hurt? Did you break anything?" Branch would always be protective over Poppy, even when he didn't have his true colors.

Even under the sadness that took over Branch when he was grey, she still cared about the queen.

Poppy giggled at how concerned Branch was, " Branch, I'm Okay!" Poppy said in between giggles.

Poppy's smile quickly turned back into a frown as she looked down at her hot pink feet.

Branch looked at the pink troll concerned for her, wondering what could be wrong.

Branch then had a flashback appear in his mind of when the two trolls were younger, Poppy was blue about it being Mothers Day, So Branch spent the day with her to comfort and cheer her up.

" Oh Poppy," Branch gave her a tight embrace as Poppy returned the hug. Poppy felt safe and comforted in Branch's arms.

The two trolls spit from the hug and looked into each other's eyes.

" Do you wanna come and stay with me at my bunker for a little while? I have ice cream."

" Sure! Why not," The two trolls made their way inside the bunker. They both sat down on Branch's brown couch, as they sat in silence.

" What was she like?" Poppy asked Branch after a little while of silence. Poppy knew that her mom and Branch's grandma used to be close friends so he had to know something about her mom.

Branch looked at the queen and grabbed her hands, " She was exactly like you. Just like you." Branch smiled at her, " Sometimes it scares me how much you are like her.

Poppy started to form tears in her eyes. The former princess was so moved by the blue trolls words.

" And you know she loves you with all of her heart right?" Branch said in a tender tone.

" Thank you Branch. Not just for this, but for everything. For when you came on that crazy journey to saw our friends with me, from when you saved me from those spiders, and mostly from when you helped me find my true colors. Thank you," She pulled him into a hug.

" No problem Poppy. I couldn't bear to see you get hurt." Branch replied to Poppy.

" That's what I like about you Branch. You always do everything in your power to make sure I am safe and okay. Nobody has ever done anything like that. And I love you for that."

" I love you too Poppy"

The two trolls held their hug as Poppy began to fall asleep. " Goodnight princess," Branch kissed her forehead as he began to doze off himself.
