"What was it like?" I asked, twisting my hair.
"It was beautiful. It was like everything and everyone were friends. Butterfly would land on your shoulders and cats rubbing against you, waiting to be petted. But it only lasted two days till my dad divorced my mother. Now he's married to Olivia." He rolled his eyes when he said her name.
"What happened between them?" I asked.
"I never heard."
"So you live with your mom?" I said changing the subject.
"No."
"Then who?" He sat there quitely looking at the sky. I waved to get his attention but he continued to look at the sky. "What's so interesting about the sky. It seems like your never saw it before."
"It's just my mother passed away a month ago by a car accident..." He paused and bit his bottom lip. "More like she was kidnapped and the driver was speeding and hit a eighteen wheeler. Her name was Sunny." I was shocked how the story ended and how sad it was.
"So are you going into foster care or staying here." I said loudly to brake the silence. He shook his head and I could see his eyes water.
"I'm staying. The thing is, everyone hates me, including your boyfriend."
"Don't say that."
"Say what?"
"Mason's my boyfriend. He tricked me and I'm just.. angry by the thought of it."
"Well surprised, surprised!" He yelled. "I'm your roommate!" I rolled my eyes and though how we could share a bed. "So." He shook me to take me out of though. "What happened to your mom?" I paused and tears started to pricked my eyes.
"My m-om?" I said stuttering.
"Yes."
"She was forced to quit her job but she didn't listen. We told her to, if something happened.." I took a deep breath and continued. "The next day they shot her, right in the head and Bam. My mother was dead." I said quivering. Thinking what would happen if my mom was still alive. Dad wouldn't be drinking and he would be happy. We would be a happy family. I guess we both lost our mom's.
"Come on." He said jumping onto his feet. " I wanna show you something." He put out his hand and I just looked up and down at him and his hand.
I smiled, "Fine." He pulled me up and took me into the woods, where was a little shack.
"This is where me and Mase used to play. We mostly pretended that we were superheros." He said. "I wonder if they used it."
"It looks worn-out."
"I know, it always been like that. Nobody cared to fix it" He took a step into the tiny shack that was filled with desks and cabinets. It looked amazing but someone had to ruin it. Chase farted then burped.
"Excuse you." I said rolling my eyes.
"Who's there?" Said a unfamiliar voice. I took a couple of steps to see Mason.
"Me." I called, taking a step closer.
"What are you doing? Your not supposed to be here." Mason said.
"Well too bad lil Mase, she's with me." He said stepping behind me. "I'm just showing her around."
He shot a hateful glare and got up. "Seriously? Why are you with him in the first place. You know your suppose to be with me."
I rolled my eyes and pointed at him. "You ditched me so you have no room to talk. Plus I think he's a better person than you!"
Mason's jaw dropped and he took one last stare at me. He closed his eyes and cracked his knuckles. He looked at Chase then me, and soon he was flying at me. He grabbed my stomach and squeezed it so tight, till I couldn't breathe. I wiggled to be set free. I was at the last breath till he dropped me. I fell while gasping for air. I rolled back and forth till I could breathe properly. I laid there all pale and looked up at Mason. He was still mad.
"Now who's the boss?" He said looking down at me.
"Nobody's the boss! So stop killing each other!" Chase said. Mason was shocked and took steps back. "Look at you two, your killing one another! This isn't good for a relationship."
"But I was just-"
"No, don't want to hear about it. You two could figure this out." Chase interrupted. He stared at both of us and left. I was still on the floor not making eye contact with Mason what so ever.
"Hey" He paused. " Hey Jane, I'm sorry I." He paused again. He bent down and rubbed my back. "Jane please, I didn't know what I was doing. Please, please forgive me Jane. Jane?" I continued to not to listen. I closed my eyes and breathe very slowly. "If your tired I could carry you to a bed." I laid there for a couple of minutes then I passed out. Next thing I know, I was laying on my bed. Tucked in with a big blue blanket and very squishy pillows. At the end of my feet I could see Mason.
"It's about time."
