Chapter: 1-HALEY'S POV-
I woke up, the sun was shining brightly through my window. I heard cars passing by, birds chirping happily, and the sounds of air planes flying ahead. It was all enough to drearily drag myself out of my bed. I stretched and yawned while looking at my alarm clock. "4:05 am." I whispered to myself. I looked outside my window one more time. I noticed the sun was still rising, almost as slow as I had gotten out of bed. "Hm... It's a Friday, I should probably go ahead and just go back to sleep." I said as I flipped backwards into my bed. Then it hit me. Well to be precise it didn't just hit me, it was like the universe just slapped me in the face rather rudely. But I smiled widely as I realized what today was.
"My third year at Hogwarts!" I excitedly said to myself. I hopped out of my bed and ran to my dresser, pulling out some adorable deer socks as well as some hair ties. I slid over to my closet, and I opened it happily. In that moment, I felt like one of those Disney princesses when they're having that song montage about their dreams and such. I grabbed a yellow t shirt with thin white stripes on it, and I pulled out my short overalls. I remembered picking that outfit out. All my other clothes were packed away into my suitcase. I got dressed rather quickly, still smiling brightly. I put on my socks and decided to wear some yellow high top converse. I looked at myself in the mirror. "Cute!" I said. "Somethings missing though.." I looked at my hair. "OH GREAT. Ugh I forgot to brush it... Or do anything with it in general!" I looked at my phone for a second, contemplating what I should do. I then smiled and grabbed it, signing into my phone with is password and going straight to Pinterest. "Cute Hairstyles" I typed in. I searched for a few minutes then decided to do space buns. They kinda looked like Mickey Mouse ears... Which I laughed at a bit. I opened my door and walked into the kitchen. "Morning Mom! Dad!" I said in greeting. "Good morning, Haley!" They both said. "Do you think you could check on Kara? Me and your dad think she's nervous... She's been up hours before any of us, but is still in her room, 'Getting ready'." She made air quotes with the last part of her sentence. I had almost completely forgot! Kara, my little sister, was attending Hogwarts for the first time today! I was so excited for her! She might just meet her best friend there! Like I did! But I'll talk more about my best friend later. "Yeah sure!" I said, heading to the door of her room. "Heyo, Kar-Kar! Can you open up?"
"I-I'm still getting ready!" She stuttered. "Is mom making breakfast yet though?! Cause I'm starving!" I opened the door and answered her. "Yes, bacon, eggs, pancakes! And what is taking you SO long!?" I asked her bluntly. She turned around and looked probably the most out together I've ever seen her be. "OH MY GOD KAR-KAR YOURE SO PRETTY!!!!" I yelled excitedly. "R-really?! I don't know if it's too much or-" I cut her off. "IT LOOKS AMAZING!" I said with a smile. "Thanks," she smiled and continued. "I think something's missing though..."
"Makeup!" I said. "Huh? I've never worn any makeup!" She said. "Don't worry, I'll just put on some mascara. That's all I do! And luckily for you I haven't even done my makeup yet." "Well how will I know how to take it off later?!" She questioned me. "You're bound to be put in Hufflepuff, so if you are we'd be in the same room. If you aren't, I'll make sure to find someone who's able to help you take it off." I answered. "O-okay... if you say so..." "So what house do you wanna be in?" I asked her, as I walked down the hallway and into my room while she followed. "I wanna be in Hufflepuff, not just because you're there though. I just like the people there and feel like I'll be able to fit in there." She explained. "Yeah I know how you feel! Don't worry, you're probably destined to be a Hufflepuff." I giggled, searching through my makeup bag. I pulled out my mascara and walked over to her. "Open your eyes silly!" I said tauntingly. She begrudgingly opened her eyes widely. "BE CAREFUL! DONT POKE ME!" She squirmed. "You're fine!!!! I'm almost done!" I exclaimed as she squirmed more and more under my grasp. "OkAY. fiNE." I started "JUST BLINK ALOT." I commanded at her. And she obeyed. "Okay, you're done."
She ran over to a mirror and smiled. "OOOOooOo~ I look so pretty! And that didn't hurt..." She stated at me. "It wasn't supposed to hurt ya bozo!" I replied sassily as I put the mascara on myself. She spun around in her white dress. It was beautiful on her, and she looked even more adorable with her hair in two half buns, it framed her face perfectly. "If you're worrying about how you look, you look amazing, Kar." I stated with a smile plastered on my face. She smiled at me and gave me a thankful look. Most times we hung out, we didn't need words. Just smiles. I have to admit, I miss back when we could just hang out under our oak tree outside, doing our homework, sticking flowers in eachothers hair. The summer was always more busy for us then the school year was. Me and Kara were homeschooled, until I started going to Hogwarts... Then I stopped! And this year so is Kara. So maybe we'll be able to hang out more. I sigh to myself in my head as I hope she is a Hufflepuff. I didn't want to lose her. Mom cut into my thoughts, "Breakfast!!!" She shouted. "Yes Mommy!" Kara said for both of us. "C'mon! We'll be leaving in about 20 minutes!" I said, hopping up from my bed and running into the kitchen. "My! Kara you look wonderful!" Mom exclaimed as she dropped a pancake onto Dad's plate. "She does!" Dad agreed. Kara spun around in her dress, displaying it for everyone to see. "So are you two all packed up?" Dad asked us. Kara nodded and confidently replied with a "Yes Poppa!" And I nodded as well. "Yep! Wait... No actually. I need to pack Ellie and get Daisy in her cat crate." Ellie was my childhood stuffed animal, even at 14... I still loved her, she had gotten me through a lot, and there was no way I was going to be able to get through Hogwarts without her. And Daisy was my pet cat. She had accompanied me on my first time to Hogwarts, I've had her for 3 years now! And a few days ago we got Kara a cat as well for her first time. Its name was Sniffles! He had a scrunched up face, unlike Daisy, Daisy had an adorable pushed out snout and green eyes to accompany her grey tabby fur. She was very cuddly, and pretty smart! I wouldn't be able to go to Hogwarts without her either. "Well eat quickly than go get her in that crate!" My mom said. "Okay." I said as she put bacon, eggs, and a pancake on my plate. I slid into my seat and started to eat.
