This story is based off of this music video, but there is more to it. I dreamt about this story, and for some reason, I felt like I needed to write it. It's pretty amazing where dreams can take you. So here it goes:

"It has been said, time heals all wounds." -Rose Kennedy

"Yes Graham! Run, run, run!" I exclaim. In the past couple years that I've known Graham, I learned to love the game of football.

I clap hard when he dodges a tackle and scores for his team. I hug my best friend, Savannah Kingsley, who stands next to me, jumping up and down in the bleachers. This is the same best friend that helps me sneak out of the house every Friday night to see my boyfriend play.

This was huge for Graham. The performance of his game tonight determined if he got into his dream college, the University of Alabama, and so far, he's scored two touchdowns and it's only the first quarter.

I cheer as the offense jogs to the sidelines and the special teams run onto the field. Graham takes off his helmet and finds my eyes. I stand in the same spot every game for this purpose. Graham always knows where to find me.

I turn around to show him the back of the t-shirt that I customized. It reads Hoffman, his last name, and his number, eleven.

He gives me a huge smile. I really try to be the supportive girlfriend. I don't have any spirit wear from his school because I go to the local private school, Dixon Academy, so I improvise by making my own.

After the game, I wait back with Savannah in the bleachers. The scoreboard still reads the final, 56-7. Graham killed it tonight. The scout from Alabama talked to him and from the look on his face, I think he got in.

When he gets a free moment, I leave Savannah to go to him. She tells me that she's going to head home.

I run up to Graham and give him a hug. He squeezes me tight. "I got in baby."

I look at him with excitement. "That's amazing!" I kiss him on the lips.

After a few more moments, he pulls away and hoists me onto his back so I'm riding piggyback. "I'm so proud of you," I tell him as he walks to his car.

"Yes Lexie, we've got the world on our fingertips. I'm on my way to being a division one athlete and your on you way to going to some super prestigious Ivy League school. We'll both be successful and get amazing jobs. We'll be able to buy a beautiful home on the beach and have a big family. I can see it now." He says as he sets me down by his car.

I beam at his thoughts of our future together. It's true, we do have the world at our fingertips. Almost everything is looking up now, except one tiny detail: my parents don't approve of Graham. For the past two years, I've been trying to convince them otherwise.
