Chapter One

Kyle

"Teddy!" Kate yelled running towards me and hugged me tightly.

"Is everything okay?" I asked

"I'm so happy today Kyle!" She said jumping

"You topped your class? That's not new!" I said and chuckled.

" No. Kane...He proposed me!" She said smiling like a crazy person

My heart broke into a hundred pieces then and there

"What?! I thought he liked Lydia. Well whatever it is I'm happy for you." I faked a smile

"Okay got to head home. Bye!" I said quickly and went

I reached home and threw my bag on the bed and sat in deep thoughts thinking about what Kate just said. My head was spinning and tears were about to fall from my eyes.

What? No...He can't propose her. She's mine!

Damn! Only if I would tell her earlier, maybe she would be mine now.

Just then my phone rang. I opened it and saw Kate's message. She had sent me a picture of her and Kane. Fùck!

I then received her message.

Kate : Take care! Call me if you need me!

She messaged. I felt selfish enough to type that I need you here, with me!

No, I don't want to snatch her happiness away. If she's happy with him then be it.

Days passed, finals were near, I was heading over to Kate's house for group studying. Over the days Kane and her got close which got me jealous as hell. I just wanted to rip Kane apart in two pieces but then again Kate was head over heels in love with him.

I reached Kate's house. We both studied for quite some time before Kate's phone rang. It was Kane. Both of them talked for a long time before she cut the phone. I was burning from inside. I had decided to confess what I felt for. It may be a wrong time but I need to get the weight lifted off my shoulder.

"Uh..Kate I need to tell you something." I said scratching the back of my neck, "I know this is a wrong time but I need to tell you something right now!."

"Go ahead, teddy. You know you can tell me anything." She said smiling brightly.

"I love you!" I mumbled quickly.

"You know I love you too, your my best friend!" She said and giggled. I wish you were more than my best friend!

"Not that way. The way... like you love... Kane." I mumbled, "I don't expect you to love me back. Just wanted you to know that. If Kane does anything to you, just know I'll always be there for you." I continued giving a small smile.

"Thank you, teddy! I never knew that but I do respect your feelings." She smiled and gave me a small kiss on my cheek making my heart jump.

Soon we finished our studying and headed home.

I reached home and saw dad talking to someone on the phone. He soon saw me and cut it.

"Son! Your back! I wanted to tell you, I've been shifted to Canada for my job. Now we'll be living there." He said and that made my heart stop.

No, I don't want to leave Kate!

"Dad, is it okay if I stay here? Please?" I whispered.

My dad broke out into a smile, "I understand, I know your attached to the city. Well, I'll leave you alone for a while. It'll help you to be responsible also. Don't worry, if you change your mind you can always call me." He said and I smiled hugging him. My dad always understood me and I love him for that.

Weeks passed, dad was ready to leave and my finals were also almost coming to an end. I was walking down the corridor to head to the library. Kate was waiting for me as we both had a free period.

I then heard a few noises. The other corridor was lonely and I wondered who was there. When I stepped in the corridor my eyes almost popped out seeing the scene in front of me. I just saw Kane making out with Lydia.

If that dude is playing with Kate I'm going to kill him.

I was going to stop them but instantly Kate hit my mind. I hate to inform her about it.

I ran to the library and saw her reading a book. I ran to her.

"Kate, I just saw Kane making out with Lydia, they...." my words were clogged in my mouth as I felt a sting on my cheek. I looked up and couldn't believe that Kate slapped me...my Kate!
