"I don't want to go back to Nathan's." I tell Jeremy and he pauses before asking "Well where do you want to go then?" I look down at my half empty bottle of whiskey. "My apartment, and you're coming with." I say and look up at him. He nods "Do you have enough weed?" He chuckles. I smile, "Have you ever seen me without a backup stash?" "Yeah you're right, it's not the apocalypse yet." We both giggle and i feel a weight lift off my shoulders. Jeremy always knows how to make me feel better somehow. He's the best unbiological brother i could've ever asked for. "Let's go say goodbye to Nathan at least." He protests and i nod. Nathan's done nothing wrong and he invited us tonight, would be a dick move to leave without saying goodbye. I slip my bottle in my bag before going back inside knowing every one is gonna ask for a sip. We make our way through the crowd to him. "I'm not feeling well we're gonna get going." I say and force a pathetic smile on my lips. "Really so early?" "It's midnight Nat." I remind him and he chuckes. "Whatever be safe." He tells me and Jeremy before pulling me into his arms for a hug and gives Jeremy a bro shake and they exchange a few goodbyes but im too dosed off to hear them.
As i step into my beige mini cooper and turn the radio on before slipping a CD of Nirvana in and turn it louder a knock on my window makes me jump. It's Tyler, shit. I roll my window down, he looks furious. "Where the hell do you think you're going?" He snaps. "Oh I'm sorry i didn't know i needed your permission to go home." I snap back sarcastically. I swear there's more sarcasm in my veins than blood. "Cut your crap Scarlett." He almost shouts and that's it, I've had enough. "I'll gladly cut this crap, it's over, you and me, we done." I shout before driving away as fast as possible. I can't help but catch a glimpse of him in my review mirror, he looks infuriated. I nervously look at Jeremy who obviously has a loss for words. "Say something." I say breaking this unbearable silence. "At least now you have what you wanted, peace. Well done for standing up to him." He says calmy and i let out a breath i didn't even know i was holding. He's right, no more clingy boyfriend on my back constantly. I take a deep breath and pull into my buildings parking lot and park my car.
