I ran and ran under the night sky hearing just the wind and crickets as I run away from that place. The place where I would never want to go back. I can't just run away but they leave me no other choice but to do so.
As I run through the night, I saw a man lying on the train tracks. I quickly turned to him to see if he is still alive. I looked at his face and felt like its the most beautiful face I have ever seen. Despite the wounds and bruises, I still find his face angelic.
I poked his cheek and he groaned. I jumped in surprise. God. I almost thought he's dead.
"Uhh, excuse me sir." I said still looking at his face.
"Sir, hello?" I said a little louder.
"Sir are you deaf? He—"
"Shh... I'm sleeping." he said while turning to his side.
I was surprised of what he said. Who in the right mind would sleep in the middle of the tracks right?
I sat beside him and kept quiet. We're lucky that there's no trains coming since its almost midnight.
I don't know why I stayed sitting there with him. I don't even know him for Pete's sake! I just feel like I should stay? I don't know.
I stared at his face like there's no tomorrow. He really looks like an angel.
"Take a picture it'll last longer." he said while opening one of his eyes.
He just giggled and continued to look at me. I looked back and he smiled.
"How long have you been awake?" I asked.
"Hmm... Since I felt like I was about to melt." he said while smirking.
I looked away and felt my face heating up.
"I wasn't looking at you." I said in denial.
"I never said you were." he smirked.
I was about to say something but I chose to shut my mouth.
"But I guess you were staring." he said while getting up.
"I wasn't." I said while looking at him wide eyed.
He chuckled and got off the rails.
"Would you like a cup of coffee? I know a small diner near here." he said, looking at me with his angelic smile.
"Sure." I said returning his smile.
We then walked side-by-side while the sun slowly rose up as a sign of a new day.
