Broad skies
Flat plains
I get lonely sometimes
Candy painted leaves hanging haphazardly from worn trees
Cracks in overused pavement
I lay, titillated
Open to heartbreak
And pain
Only to need more
Of the very thing that
Shatters me
Tatter me
Fine glass shards that gleam in iridescent sunlight
Searing hot skin
Trickling down like seeds pushed through watermelon rinds with a forceful tongue
