"Oi, Cameron! What's taking you so long?" I shouted, the clear irritation lacing in my voice as I looked at my watch for probably the millionth time today.
"One second! Just. . . just wait, will you?" He replied. I groaned in frustration upon hearing his words, seeing as I've been waiting for him to him to be done for nearly two hours.
Honestly, he's such a girl sometimes. What's even more surprising is that he takes longer to get ready than Mom does and that's saying something considering how Mom takes forever to get ready.
"Are you done yet?" I asked again in the same irate manner.
When I finally saw him run down the stairs with an extremely messy hair and with his shoes untied. "I'm here, I'm here. Are you happy now?" He huffed, running his hand through his hair to somehow tame it.
"Yes. Very." I replied. I was about to chastise him some more but before I could utter those very words, he tripped on the aglets of his shoes on the very last step of the stairs, making him land on the floor with a loud thud.
He groaned in pain before muttering profanities under his breath, "Fucking hell." being one of those.
As I laughed at his discomfort, he slowly stood up on his place while giving me a glare to go with it. It's so amusing watching Cameron be this clumsy. He has got to be the most careful person I've ever known so seeing him like this just seems to make me happy — as horrible as it sounds. It just makes me feel better that even the most careful person can have some stupid and dumb moments too.
"Oh God, what a sight." I laughed. "The mighty has fallen."
He gave me a growl as he crouched down to tie his shoelaces. "Say another word, and I will cut your tongue off."
Scoffing, I said, "Like that would make me stop. You're deluding yourself if you think you can stop me with your words alone."
"And you're being incredibly annoying." He replied. "Why I agreed to stay here for the weekend, I'll never know."
I smacked him on the head, making him yelp in surprise and making him glare at me. "You stayed here for your godchild."
His glaring ceased as soon as I said those words. With a calm look on his face as he stood up once again, he said, "Ah yes. The cutie I only get to see once in awhile."
I nodded my head. "I know. Me too." I released a sigh as I crossed my arms. "It's been five years since the incident." Cameron stayed silent. "By the way, how is Alyssa?"
"During the last time we talked, she seemed fine to me." Cameron replied silently. "It's a good thing though that Alyssa was away for two weeks when it happened because if that wasn't the case, I don't know what she'll do."
"I know. I've thought the same thing." I looked at him. "Do you ever miss your best friend?"
He gave me a silent chuckle. "Of course I do. What best friend wouldn't miss his best friend?"
"Um, you?" I suggested, laughing when he smacked me on the back of my head. "What? I was just saying."
Rolling his eyes, he gathered the back of my shirt in a fist before literally dragging me out the door as he said, "You talk too much. Let's go. We're already late as it is."
As I thrashed around, trying my hardest to get away from my stupid brother's grip, I said, "Let go of me, you idiot."
"Baka." I heard him mutter under his breath, which was enough to make me stop my thrashing and wonder what the hell he just said.
