" The devil doesn't come dressed in a red cape and pointy horns. He comes as everything you've ever wished for."

Medieval Tapestry adorned the rustic walls of the abandoned mansion. William fredrick Styles stood limping in the centre of the sitting room. The sparse breaths that could be seen appearing through his parted lips in the musty coldness that surrounded him were the sole proof of a living being in the reportedly haunted land. His rough hands clutched the wooden cane so dearly, supporting his sickly frame. The fedora atop his balding head tilted slightly, his beady eyes menacingly scanning the room for the entity he hoped would appear.

Behind his fame, the flickering candlelight in the small carefully structured pentagram created a light hew of gold in the darkness of the sitting room. William's shadow created by the candlelight was projected on the wall in front of him. It stood tall, proud and arrogant as if it projected the man William once was – contrastingly opposite of the crumpled old man he had become. The shadow teased him, it reminded William of everything, the empire he had created for himself, that was no longer in his hold. It was taken, by a younger, stronger model that replaced him. However, William knew that no matter who took his place, they could never be smarter than him. Nothing could come close to his remarkable intelligence. The man that was now standing in the spot – that so rightfully belonged to William – was generous and all for the people. However, William knew that the man would go nowhere because in order to progress up the corporate ladder you had to be cunning and think of yourself, not the people. William knew that if he could better his physique and rid his body of disease and infection, then his empire could flourish for much longer, at least until his ken took over. That was why Desmond was born, to take over the empire built by his father.

William knew Desmond was still too young to hold the power of his family alone. He had to learn alongside William before he could hold that kind of power. Desmond was too kind for his own good, he had to be broken first to understand the cruelty of the world, then and only then would he understand what it meant to take his father's place. The world has rules, and rules are followed by boys, not men. Desmond was becoming a charming young man of his time, but he is merely a boy until he knows that rules have exceptions.

Desmond turned back around to face the candles he had placed on the ground, the hope drained from his face. His attempts in invoking the devil had proven pointless. He bent down to blow out each candle; but, just as his cane lay flat on the ground, abnormally cold wind consumed the room, completing his task for him. All the golden light had gone from the room. Blue moonlight seeped through the grand window. A dark red glow emitted from the far corner opposite him. A tall naked figure wrapped in a dark cape emerged forth.

William began to question his understanding when the devil appeared as a woman. He thought the devil was a man but he has been proven wrong, clearly. It was the figure of a goddess, perfectly perky breasts bounced peaking out from under the cape. Long lean legs striding confidently towards William's crouched figure. Long raven locks swayed side to side and a chiseled jaw began to move as a pure sultry voice spoke.

"Stand up, old man." The woman spoke with such ferocity, William was dumbfounded by the beauty before him. An old man he may look, but he was young. His infection resulted in the aged look of his form. He rose from his crouched position on the ground, his cane holding most of his weight.

"Speak now. You summoned me you fool, but let me tell you, anything you will ask for, I will grant – at a price." The beautiful, otherworldly woman raised her voice in a melodic manner.

"I wish for improved health and eternal wealth and power through generations of my family." William knew that although he could not ask for immortality, he knew that with eternal wealth and power the Styles name would remain immortal.

"Ah, you're pathetic human body has certainly been proven problematic in this journey. The world was your kingdom, and you were their king. But look at you now, old man, you're equivalent to the dirt on their shoes." She spared no emotions when hitting William with hard facts. With nothing to say, he continued to stare back at the godly being, trying not to stare at her bare body.

The being smiled cunningly before speaking, "I will grant you what you desire; however, the price will be for the soul of the next born male in your family."

Without thinking of the consequences William agreed immediately. He already had a son, Desmond, so the next born male won't be something he'll need to worry about.

"That's it?" William questioned the seemingly easy process.

"What more do you expect, mortal? Did you think you'd be signing a pathetic man-made creation such as paper? Or perhaps you thought I would collect your blood?" The being raised an eyebrow at William's attempts to confirm the deal.

Menacing laugher echoed throughout the dark room as the figure disappeared right before William's eyes. It just vanished into thin air but it's laugher continued to boom louder and louder hurting his ears. The sound became ear-piercing that William fell to his knees, covering his ears for dear life. A loud scream emitted from William's lips and the pain from the noise became unbearable and he fell completely to the ground, unconscious.

After this deal, the Styles family continued meddling with dark magic, with no fear of the consequences they made. This was the deal that would write the destiny of one unlucky human that was yet to be born. William never asked what the implications of selling one's soul would be, thus his ken would receive more than what he consented for. The devil always finds a loophole.

The devil is too cunning and always comes to collect more than one has bargained.
