Lance sighed as his mom drove away. He was in a new place alone. Surely Mr. Kogane was a nice person. As he walked over to what he was pretty sure was the field he was supposed to meet Mr. Kogane in, he saw a boy about his age getting off of a tractor. The boy smiled, looking up at the sun.
That must be his son. Lance thought. He walked past the teen as took off his red flannel shirt to cool off. He went into the house and smiled at Mr. Kogane.
"Well hello there, Lance. Your mom told me you'd be working for me this summer?" Mr. Kogane said as he made lemonade. "Did you meet my son yet?" He smiled, handing Lance a glass. The boy he saw outside just before came in, stomping to mud off his boots and tossing his shirt over a chair. He looked at Lance with a small smile, obviously checking him out.
"Hello." Lance smiled at the male in front of him, who took the lemonade pitcher from his dad, not even bothering to put it into a glass.
"You said your friend's daughter was coming." He frowned looking at his dad.
"Well... Veronica couldn't make it, so the next best bet was this kid." Mr. Kogane chuckled, looking over at Lance.
"She was too busy with her boyfriend to come over." He grinned a bit. He felt like he was going to get along with this family. "I'm Lance McClain." Lance held his hand out to the boy in front of him.
"Keith." The teen, Keith, smiled taking Lances hand and shaking it. "Those soft hands of yours ain't gonna stay like that for much longer." He chuckled, making Lance blush a bit. Lance didn't do much work in the city, so it was new to him. ((im litterally just gon <--- (see?) talk like i do irl cos i talk like this normally lol))
"Alright, what d'yall want for dinner?" Keith's dad grinned, getting a look from Keith that said 'Really'?
"Hmmm... Spaghetti." Keith said sarcastically. "I'll start the potatoes." He smiled, getting some potatoes and began to peel them after rinsing them and washing his hands.
"Want some help?" Lance smiled at Keith, who smiled back.
"Sure, you know how to cook?" Keith wasn't expecting it, but he found it nice. He turned on the radio and smiled when "Country Boy" by Alan Jackson came on. He sang along and was shocked when Lance knew the words.
"My mom listens to a lot of country music." He chuckled, causing Keith to blush.
Damn, he's hot. Keith thought, going back to the food.
