Chapter 08 - Run

After the movie had ended, Seokjin hyung was walking to the exit door while Byeol and I followed him from back. “The movie was great!” Byeol smiled to me. I was flustered. Oh why? Don’t smile please!

“It’s so sad that we need to say goodbye.” I looked at her face. Her face was changed. Her sweet smile faded. She looked at me like we wouldn’t meet again. “Hey, don’t be sad,” I smiled even though I was sad too.

“This is the risk, Oppa. You are my boyfriend now but we can’t meet each other. What else can be sadder than this?” her hand avoided mine that was wanted to hold it.

“Hey… Hey… Don’t worry. I’ll sneak out when they are sleep. Ah, I’ll check my schedule and I when I have a free time, where do you want to go?” I whispered to her ear because Seokjin Hyung might hear it.

She smiled. “How about Everland? I really want to go there. I…” Before she finishes her words, I put my index finger on her mouth. “shh..” I whispered. “That’s a good idea,” I added. She looked at me and then showed her little finger to make a pinky promise. “Promise?”

I nodded with a smile. “Pro…”

“Taehyung,” Seokjin Hyung called me. I looked at him. “I want to go to toilet. Please wait here,” He ordered. I replied with a nod.

I looked at Byeol back. “I promise.” I smiled at her but her face still looked sad like earlier. “Smile please?”

“After Seokjin Oppa come from toilet, he’ll take you home. Great!”

“Byeol…” I wanted to persuade her but suddenly I think something. “Hey, how long have you run? How fast?” I asked.

She frowned and seemed thinking something. “Err..” She doubted but, I couldn’t wait for longer time. I was just held her hand and ran. “Oppa!” She screamed when suddenly I forced her to run.

“Run, Byeol. Run.” I replied. She finally understood and ran faster than before. We were heading to the exit door of the mall.

Seokjin Hyung maybe was looking for me but, who cares? I stopped a while at five-foot way because we were so tired.

I looked at her. “Are you all right?” I asked. She looked so exhausted but she managed to smile to me. “Never better,”

“Oppa, shall we run to my house?” She asked.

“Shall we?” I smirked.

She nodded.

I opened my palm and without hesitating, she held my hand. I held her hand tightly. “One… Two… Three…”

“Byeol, can you run faster? Because Hyung maybe driving now and I don’t want he finds us.”

“Then I’ll leave you, Oppa. I run very fast, did you know?” She ended her words with a laugh. “Really? Then you should prove it!”

I tried to run as fast as I could and she still ran beside me. I didn’t have an idea that she could ran that fast. I laughed. She was amazing.

We were running along the dark street when she yelled, “I’m tired!” I immediately stopped and almost kneeled because my legs weren’t stable. We were panting and wiping our sweat.

“Oppa, I think Seokjin Hyung wouldn’t find us here. Let’s walk.” She suggested. I replied with a nod. I was too exhausted until I couldn’t say anything because my voice was stuck in my throat.

We slowly walked at the street. “It’s fun, isn’t it?” I asked. She smiled and nodded. “It is…”

I turned my head to stare her. “Let’s do this again after…”

“Oppa..” She cut. “Why?” I asked. She looked weird. Suddenly, she held my arm. “Look in front,” She replied.

I do as she told to and shocked. I saw a mad man in front of us. He was holding a knife in his right hand. It made Byeol and I scared. He always grinned and suddenly laughed. “Annyeong…” He greeted.

Shivered. Thats all what I could do I thought. I tried to say something but, my voice vibrated. “A-An… Ny… Yeong…” I said. “Haha! Look what I just found! I found it on a trash…”

I smiled awkwardly. “It’s nice.” I said and then whispered to Byeol’s ear. “Byeol-ah, I count to three then run!” I ordered. She replied with a light nodded.

I get ready to count while held her hand tightly. “One… Two… Three!” I U-turned and pulled Byeol. We ran together to the lonely road. Oh God, why there was no any car to help us?

God, please help us!

I looked at back. The crazy man still chased us while laughed. He really looked crazy.  I was panting and too tired to running suddenly, I fell. I accidentally let Byeol’s hand go.
