"Maye!" one of my best friends called. "Get out of the car!"
"NOT YET!" I shouted, singing my favorite song along with the radio.
Justine stomped her way towards the car, harshly opening the door, and grabbed my hand, violently pulling me out.
"Just! Chill! That's my car!" Sunshine ran to us as she gave Just a light hit on her arm and checked her car.
"Guys, just hurry up. I'm hungry!" Lillian said. "Maye, you can listen to that song in your phone! Just, just chill! Sunny, she didn't even damage the freaking car!" She turned her back and walked away.
"I think you should all chill," Samantha sighed as she walked towards us and pushed as all away from the car.
I looked at Lillian, who was staring at me, as she rolled her eyes.
"Lia!" I shouted as I rolled my eyes back at her.
"Leave Lia alone; she usually isn't like this. She's just hungry. That's it." Sam explained.
"Usually isn't like what?!" Lia asked angrily.
Sam went up to Lia, mocked a smile, and pulled a Snickers out of her pocket. "Lia just shut up and have a Snickers." She gave her the Snickers.
"Are you telling me to shut up?! I didn't even do anything !" Just complained as she pulled her dark curls forcefully.
"No! I was talking to Lia! Why is your name even Just? It just confuses everything."
Sunny tapped my shoulder.
"Do I still look alright?" Sunny asked as she reapplied some of her pink lipstick and pressed her lips together, making a popping sound.
"Sunny... that's too much makeup for the beach, honestly."
She scoffed. "You can never have too much makeup."
"It's a beach. It's hot in the beach. Your sweat'll wash off all your makeup," I rolled my eyes.
"At least I'm looking pretty, and you're looking sweaty," she winked. "I'll get a man, and you'll look like a man."
I mocked hurt. "Ouch. See this?" I gestured to my face. "This is called natural beauty."
"Goodluck finding a boy toy."
"I don't need boys to live," I snorted. "I'm happy and single."
She scoffed again.
Geez, what's up with this woman and scoffing?
"May–ie, there are lots of cute boys here in the beach!"
I stared at her blankly, then mocked shock. "Oh, is that my cue to act excited?"
"I don't get you, Maye. You're seventeen, and still no special boy?"
"As the saying goes: 'No love life, no problem.' Therefore, I am not getting myself a problem," I smiled and shrugged.
"But no love life also means no adventure! No excitement!" she warned. "Maye, you're really, really pretty. Don't you know the amount of boys interested in you?!"
"Boys are jerks."
"Nah! What about Bob?" She asked.
"Bob's a vegetable."
"Well, so what?" She scoffed. "I bet you a..."
I stared at her, raising an eyebrow. "Bet me a what?"
