Binuksan ko ang aking mata at tumingala sa kalangitan. Habang nakatingin ako sa mga bituin, na kumikinang sa kalangitan. Iniisip ko na sana, sana may shooting star para matupad ang hiling ko. Ang hiling kong makalaya na, makalaya na sa taong hindi ko na kayang mahalin.
I sighed heavily, feeling my chest tighten. A forced smile made its way into my face as I gazed at the stars. I was too focused on stargazing that I didn't notice a figure near the doorstep.
"Hey," his deep voice echoed around the room.
Napatingin ako sa papalit niyang anyo at nagpakawala ng buntong hininga. Bumalik ulit yung hapdi sa dibdib ko, I massaged it gently using my fingers while he's now standing in front of me.
I can only see his figure but not his face, the light that the moon illuminated did nothing for his face to appear. The only thing that I can see clearly is his eyes, those soulful black eyes that seems to pull me. Those soulful eyes that are now filled with tears, tears that I caused.
"Sorry," I whispered.
Bowing my head, I can't look at him straight into his eyes. Knowing that I'm the one who caused his pain. My eyes started to water at the thought of it. I closed my eyes as I felt his calloused fingers lift my chin, they may be calloused but they felt soft against my skin.
"Hey, hindi mo kasalanan 'to, okay? Don't beat yourself to it." he said gently.
I feel so guilty for putting him in this kind of situation. I wish everything was — is easy. But sadly, it's not.
"Open your eyes, please." he murmured while wiping away the rouge tear that managed to escape.
I opened my eyes and stared at him. He smiled gently at me and held my face in his hands while slowly inching his face towards me. He gave me a light kiss on the lips and my lids fluttered close for a while then drifted open as he pulled away slowly. He removed his hands and rested it on my waist and then he hugged me. I feel so safe in his arms, secured. I wrapped my arms around him and rested my face against his chest. I listened to the beat of his heart as he slowly rocked us both. My eyes feel so heavy, my body feels tired and as I was about to lose consciousness, I heard him whisper.
"I love you."
