"What am I doing here?" Yuta asked himself as he walks through the cells of the detention center he was sent to. "It's not as bad as you think," the boy, who was clearly younger than him, said to him as they walked together to their cell.

"Be nice to the newcomers!" They both walk in with their basket full of things to see four men. "Long time no see Jailbird," one of them said to the young boy that was standing by Yuta. "You know I like to have a little bit of free time before coming back." "Jailbird?" Yuta asked, puzzled of why they called him that. "He comes in and out of jail so he got the nickname Jailbird." One of the other men told him. Jailbird, at least that's what they called him, looked in Yuta's direction and said, "proud to be called that might I add. It takes a while to get a good nickname like that."

As they got settled they slowly introduced themselves. The "leader" of the cell was a man named Professor Young, at least that's what they all called him. He was known to have the most knowledge of the group.

The one who had met Jailbird before was named Jaehyun and he was part of a gang. He wasn't a leader tho, he always followed someone and always seemed to get caught.

As the conversation veered off one of the other cellmates slowly leaned against the wall. "Call me Seagull." He simply says. Even though he looked like he was one of the youngest of the cell, he definitely had authority. Later Yuta learns that he is the leader of a big gang and his name was Mark.

The last man, who was the oldest, didn't really talk much about his background. In order to get enough money to get extras in the cell he followed whatever Mark wanted him to do. Yuta wasn't fond of that because he always thought older people should be treated with respect, but it didn't matter. Taeil, which was his name, did what had to be done to survive.

One day when they were all able to take a shower Jailbird told Yuta all about his life and why we was in jail again. "My mom is very sick and I needed money to pay for her surgery that she needed to survive. The bank didn't want to give me a loan, I mean who would with my credit, so I stole money instead and got caught. What's even sadder is I couldn't keep the money so my mom is still fighting for her life." Jailbird sighed and went in to take a shower.

Yuta was troubled by his story and wanted to do something before, hopefully, he would get out after his retrial. Because he was a very famous soccer player, Yuta got one of the police to let him take a call. He called his secretary, Je-Hyeok, to ask him to pay for Jailbird's mom and her surgery. "Are you sure about this? You hardly know the boy?" "He feels like a younger brother to me Je-Hyeok and I really want to help him out." As soon as they hung up Je-Hyeok made the transaction.

During visiting hours Jailbird's sister came to see him. "It's been a while Winwin." Winwin reluctantly smiled but then sighed, knowing her presence was not a good thing. "What happened now?" Winwin's sister started to cry and in between sobs said, "Mom is fine, she got the surgery." "What? How? Who paid for it?!" "It was your cellmate Yuta. His secretary came by today and told us."

As Jailbird walked back to his cell he started to cry with relief and gratefulness. No one ever wanted to help him like this before. He owed his whole life to Yuta.

*The day after Yuta's retrial*

"I shouldn't be here!" Yuta yells as he sits in the police bus headed to the place he was going to have to stay for a year.

The retrial didn't go as he wanted. The man he had beat up got worse and became brain dead, there was no getting out. Yuta was going to have to stay in jail for a year.
