Chapter 1:Leaving home

________________________

"Mom you don't have to do this" Beth cried.

"Baby i must" said her mother.

"It doesn't have to be this way."

"Honey no matter what happens ill always be here," she pointed to my heart as tears came out of my eyes and on to my cheeks. I ran into my room and slammed the door behind me and locked it, I was to sad and angry to see anyone. I grabbed my favorite pink pillow and my crushed my face into it getting it wet with all my tears, I was trying to pretend this was all a dream but it couldn't be a child's dream isn't to have a mother in the army, this was real not my fantasy but my true life, it was hard to believe.

The next morning awoke to my dad banging on the door i knew right then that i had forgotten to unlock it the previous night. I opened it to him with an angry face, he always tells me to not lock my door when i am sleeping, in case of a emergency or something.

"Get ready" my father said.

"Why" I said to him.

"To take your mother to the airport."

"That's today?"

"Yes, now hurry we don't want to be late" he closed my door so I could have my privacy. I walked over to my dresser, opened it, and grabbed out my purple shirt and my black skinny jeans. I figured this is an important day.

After I changed I went to the garage where I saw my mom and dad in the car I got in and my dad started driving the whole way to the airport know one said a word the whole way there, not even a sneeze or a cough. The only sound I heard was the rain beating on the outside of the car.

When we got to the airport my mother was waiting in her uniform to board the plain when they called her plain she gave my dad a hug and a kiss, she came up to me and did the same then looked me and said "Remember, always in here" she pointed to my heart, then, turned around and got on the plain.

I ran out of the airport and looked up at the sky and started to cry, my dad ran out following me, he hugged me and when he saw i was crying he started to cry to my dad always cry's when he sees his little 8 year old cry. He put me in the car, and he got in next i thought to myself 'that may of been the last time I ever saw my mother. My dad started driving I was wishing that she will be okay in Iraq.

The whole way home all I heard were the cry's of sadness.
