Alex Pov:

Rolling over sleepy, I slammed my hand down on my alarm clock, hearing a creak like the sound of old floorboards. I walked to my closet to find my school uniform. I was getting used to the tan skirt and navy blue shirt. I didn't have to worry about picking out what to wear.

"You need to be getting up." My father said with frustration in his voice. I quickly got dressed and headed out for the bus. Once I got to school, I slowly walked to my locker. I didn't really feel welcomed in this school, but I had to get an education one way or another. I was always teased and taunted. Once I got to my locker I put my bag down and started to unlock it when some guy pushed me into my locker. I had a few scratches on my arm, but gathered my things and went to my first hour.

"Good morning Mrs. Brown." I said with a smile while sitting down. She cleared her throat while walking over to me.

"Alex, pick up your stuff, and let's go; you've got a new first hour. You'll still have me as a teacher, but during your seventh hour." I looked at her with shock. I nodded my head and silently made my way to my new first hour. By the time seventh hour rolled around, I was panicking. I took a deep breath, walked in, and went up to my teacher.

"Where may I sit?" I looked down at my shoes hoping she would tell me to sit in the back somewhere.

"Take a seat anywhere. Once everyone is here, we will get assigned seats." She went back to writing. So I took a seat in the back of the room. Kids started to fill the classroom in mere seconds. The bell rang four minutes later announcing the beginning of class.

"Settle down everyone. Before we start, we are going to get new seats." Everyone groaned and whined about that. I felt as if this was all my fault. I shrunk down in my seat feeling as if all eyes were on me. The door made a high-pitched noise as a medium tall guy walked in.

"Sorry for being late." He walked over to the last empty seat. Mrs. Brown sighed in aggregation.

"Alright, now that we are all here," She glared at the kid who came in late. "let's assign new seats." She moved to the first row calling out names. By the third row, the only ones that were left were two guys, the kid that walked in late and me.

"Can we hurry this up?" The late kid spoke up with annoyance. I looked down at my feet hoping I wouldn't sit next to him.

"Aidan, would you just wait? We are almost done. In fact, you sit right here." She pointed to the seat next to her. I was praying she would put me somewhere else or just forget about me.

"Thanks." He rolled his eyes, taking his seat.

"Alright, Alex you will be sitting next to Aidan." My eyes went wide. I looked over to him to see he was as shocked as I was. I quietly took my seat next to him, fiddling with my fingers. She told the last two kids where to sit, then she slowly made her way back to the front of the classroom. I didn't know why she sat me next to him and I didn't think I wanted to know.

"Here is the book we are going to be reading. You will be expected to read this in partners with the person next to you." I looked out of the corner of my eye at Aidan. He seemed a little agitated but didn't say anything. I mentally groaned and looked down at the book.

"Well, I guess we should start reading." I opened the book and looked up at him. He pulled his knee to his chest and looked over at me.

"Yeah, you read first." Without arguing I turned back to the book and began to read. I kind of liked it when he told me what to do. After reading the book for about two months I got to know him really well. He was always really nice to me, loved Batman and his smile lit up the world. When things were going downhill he made everything seem like it was going to be alright.

"Hey, Alex!" Aidan half smiled at me. I just slightly waved to him. I didn't want him to know something was wrong, so I put in my ear-buds and walked away. Later during class I smiled glad to see him.

"Do you know what we are doing today?" I glanced over at him while getting my things out for class. He said nothing just shook his head. I didn't know what was wrong, but I didn't want to push it.

"Alright everyone here is the paper we are going to be doing." I groaned and rolled my eyes which got a laugh out of Aidan.

"I really don't want to do this." I looked over at him with a smile. As I started to write my name, he slid a piece of paper over to me. Looking down at the folded paper I looked up to see that the teacher wasn't looking. Slowly unfolding it not to make any noise I read it and it said 'Will you go out with me?' I looked at it for a little longer not believing what I was seeing. I smiled and I could feel my face heating up. I wrote yes on the paper and gave it back to him. I slowly turned my head and looked at him. I could see a bright smile on his face and a shine in his eyes.

"Hey, Aidan." He looked up at me and smiled shyly. It was so adorable when he did that. I motioned him to follow me over to my locker. As I was unlocking it he cleared his throat.

"I know we haven't really known each other that long but I really like you and enjoy spending time with you." Blushing a little I turned to face him. He had this big grin on his face which made me feel a little better. Before I could say anything back to him he gave me another paper and left.
