"Angelo please listen to me" I pleaded once again as tears fell down my face.
"What do you want Holly? We're over already" as those words left his mouth, I can't help but cringe at its impact on me.
"I thought you said you loved me? What, was that all a lie?" his jaw tightened and I saw him clench his fist.
He looked me straight in the eye and at that moment, I felt my knees tremble. I still can't get used to his serious stares "Loved. Take note of that Holly. It's in past tense. I loved you before."
My eyes looked like waterfalls as my heart tightened again. How can he be so straightforward? He was never like this when we were still together.
'Were' still together. It's in the past tense Holly.
I told myself as I closed my eyes to try and stop my tears.
I can't believe that this man in front of me, is the same man I wholeheartedly loved. I can't even recognize him.
I held his hand, hoping to see a reaction but all I got was him squirming away from my grasp then I noticed something... a ring.
I removed my hand from his voluntarily and stared at his ring. It was not just an ordinary ring, it was an engagement ring.
He tried to cover his hand but it was too late. I already saw it. I already knew why he wanted me out of his life so bad.
I finally came to my senses that I was just another play toy to him. I was just another extra in his life.
I wiped my tears and with new found courage, I looked at him and said "Engaged huh.."
He looked away and nodded.
"I'm so stupid." I laughed humorless.
"I'm so stupid to believe all the beautiful lies you told me. I thought you were the love of my life, I thought you were the one I was gonna grow old with.. but I guess, I was wrong"
I removed the necklace he gave me and gave it to him.
"Here. I won't be needing that anymore" he looked at me with emotionless eyes and took the necklace.
As I was about to walk away from him, I wanted to say something.
"Oh and Angelo.." with cold blooded voice I told him the words I hope he never forgets
"I made a lot of mistakes in my life and one of them was falling for you"
