3rd person:
Roman knelt down by his mother's bed, 6-year-old Roman looked at his mother's dying body
"Roman" she looks at him smiling "You can do so much good in the world, just never give up. And promise me you will never ever fight on the side of bad. Every life is precious like yours" she put the hair covering his eyes bind his ear, she sees the tears falling from his eyes. She wipes them away with her thumb.
"I promise ma! I'll be prince someday! Just you watch ill rule people with greatness and be loved. And not harm anyone" he said holding her hand
"That's my little prince, just don't hurt people if not needed, I love you Princey" and right after she said that last word her hand falls and her eyes closed
"Ma! N-no ma please" he said starting to cry harder "Ma don't leave me" he grips her hand
~10 years later~
Roman was waiting in a line with many other men,
"You can do this Roman, this is the closest thing to being a prince!" he thinks to himself
Roman was so lost in his train of thought he did not hear his name be called
"Roman?" The Kings assistant repeats
Roman's eyes widen. He walks infant of the line
"Hello," he says bowing
"Speaking without permission? Come" she says in a cold tone
Roman follows her to a large room where he sees Prince Thomas and the King. He gets on one knee
Thomas smiles, but the king has a cold expression
"Hello sir and Prince Thomas" he looks at Thomas and smiles
Thomas smiles back
"Don't speak to the Prince, if you get this job you are not to spend your days talking, you will protect him! He is the air to a throw, you are a peasant!" the king says harshly
"Woke up on the wrong side of the bed much?" Romans meant to say in his head but he said out loud
"What?!" the king growls
Roman's eyes widen
"N-nothing!" he stutters
Thomas laughs, they all look at him
"I want him as my knight!" he says through laughs
"But Thomas-" the king begins but is cut off by the prince
"You said to pick one, I pick him" he smiles at Roman "And he starts now"
"Fine, but one mistake and he's killed" the king threaded
Roman gulps and stands up
"Let's do this Roman!"
