Chapter 3

The driver came at us, and before I knew it, the car jerked sideways and my head was smashed into the glass. I began seeing black spots on the edges of my eyes, and knew i was going out. I looked up and through the glass to the drivers head smashed into the wheel, twisted into an impossible position, and covered in blood. But that was just the beginning.

The car started to get very warm, and very quickly. I looked out of the window, and saw that the car the truck had first run into was now in flames, as well as the truck and the driver. The truck was much worse, though. The part of the truck that had held the propane had burst when it had hit the first car and lit, and now the blue flames were licking at my car.

I try to open my door, but it has somehow gotten itself stuck. How extremely convenient. The black spots were getting closer to the center of my eyes. I am now spazzing out, frantically yanking on the handle, screaming, and basically just flailing my limbs in a vain attempt to escape the car. By then, the fire had already made its way into the front of the car and had burned the driver. It was now burning the glass, trying to get to me. Suddenly I stop.

I look around at everything: the burning truck, the dead man in the drivers seat, the cars behind me. And I quit. I quit pulling on the door handle, I quit screaming; I quit trying. I simply sit back, and wait for the flames to eat away me and my pathetic life. I let the black spots cover my eyes, and I black out.

I open my eyes, and am forced to squint at the bright light. Once I have adjusted, I realize that the light was coming from the moon. The beautiful moon. The light seemed to grow brighter, and come closer to me. Actually, it was. I realize that there is nothing under or around me to hold me up besides the moons light. I move my arms from off my stomach, and let them hang limp at my sides.

Then the moons center began to turn red. The red burned its way across the moons surface, until it completely covered it. Suddenly, the red shot down at me, and I realized it was fire. It didnt hurt when it hit me, though. It's heat soothed my skin, encircling me in its protective warmth.

I look down as something charges inside of me. What I see I knew I would never forget. 3 cars, all covered in flames. Several firetrucks surround the scene, their red lights spinning round without a care in the world. I want to go down there, to help, but something is holding me back. I turn to the moon, and mouth the words, why? No response. But then something dawns on me; what is my name? I ask this to the moon.

There is but one thing you need to know. Your name is Summer Ash, and you were created to do amazing things. No matter what anybody tells you, remember that. Also, there is but one person you need to meet; Jack Frost.

That was 314 years ago, today. And I still remember every little detail about those few days. Yet I havent done what the moon told me to do. I havent found the legendary Jack Frost, and I havent done anything amazing. Also, I still dont even get how I am still alive. Or how I have lived this long without aging a single day. I am still 17. I still the same person, with the same personality.

But a few things have changed. Nobody can see me. NOBODY. Not my friends, not my neighbors, not my landlord; absolutely NOBODY.
