"If I knew it was going to rain this much I would've brought an umbrella!" Ong yells at himself out of frustration. While everyone already went home, Ong, Daniel, Guanlin, and Jihoon were left on cleaning duty.
A week has passed since the hospital incident and Jihoon has now return to how he was before. Not completely, but particularly.
"How come the weather on my phone says it was going to be hot, at least 87 degrees?" Daniel asks completely confused. Guanlin looks on his phone and shakes his head.
"Maybe if you change the place from California to Seoul then maybe it'll tell you the correct weather," Guanlin states with a hint of sarcasm.
"Jihoon-ah!!" Woojin emerges from the shoe lockers and to Jihoon and the rest. He just glance at Guanlin then back at Jihoon with a smile. "You forgot your umbrella didn't you? I told you it was going to rain today." He opens up his umbrella, lifting it above him and Jihoon. "Sorry guys, I only have one umbrella."
"We can all fit in there if we hold it high enough!" Ong exclaims trying to go under the umbrella. "We can let Guanlin hold it since he's the tallest and has the longest arms."
"No way. I'd rather walk in the rain then under the same umbrella with a bunch of fools."
"Oh yeah~~ that remind me. You're not going to that park?" Ong asks. The mention of park caught Jihoon's attention immediately.
"No," Guanlin replies without any hesitation.
"How come? You always go to the park whenever it rains though."
"A park..?" Jihoon asks, joining into the conversation. Guanlin's eyes widen as if he's been exposed of some sort.
"You see, ever since I could remember, Guanlin would ALWAYS go to this park nearby whenever it rains. No one knows the reason. Isn't that interesting?" Ong finishes off with a laugh. Since Jihoon moves into the house he's been noticing Guanlin's disappearance whenever it rains. So this is where he runs of to when it rains huh?
Woojin turns to Jihoon as Jihoon did the same. They stare at each other as if they were communicating through their eyes. Guanlin's on the other hand felt extremely uneasy. Did Jihoon forgot about the incident 11 years ago? Has he found out that the weakling kid that was bullied then is the same person as the one standing beside him?
"I'm leaving," Guanlin announces, stepping out of the school into the pouring rain.
"Yah!! Where are you going?! You're going to get sick, idiot!!" Ong yells after him, but he didn't bother slowing down his pace.
"Ah— I just remember I have some place to go," Jihoon lies and went after Guanlin.
"YAH Park Jihoon!!" Woojin yells after Jihoon who's now disappear in the pouring rain. "That idiot," he curses under his breath. "It could've been just a coincidence."
He turns to Daniel and Ong and stares at them for a good second before handing them his umbrella. "Use it for now." He shoves the umbrella in Ong's hand and runs off going after Jihoon.
"What's with these people running in the rain?" Daniel asks turning his gaze to Ong who has a small, sheepish grin plastered on his face.
"Doesn't matter, we won't be the ones getting wet in the rain," Ong holds up the umbrella and grabbed Daniel by the shoulders before pulling him in closer. "Let's go to my place."Even though he said he wasn't going to go to the park, Guanlin finds himself stepping into the same gazebo 11 years ago that he's been coming back to frequently since then. He was completely drenched from the pouring rain as he takes cover. He sits on the bench and leans his head back while shutting his eyes to let drops of water to fall on his face. For some reason he felt at ease. As if the wetness of the rain and the smell of wet soil has embrace him.
"For 11 years I'd came back here... waiting... hoping for your return," he speaks to himself, slowly, opening his eyes. "If you hadn't showed up for these past 11 years, then what makes me think you'll eventually show up one day?" He reaches his hand out, palm facing away from him, droplets falling into his palm. "But now... why do I wish you wouldn't show up in front of me anymore?" He tilts his hand a little, allowing rain water he gathered to slide down his hand to his face. "Please don't show up... please don't show up..." he runs his hand through his wet hair with a heavy sigh as it slowly stop raining. "Guess I still can't let go of those memories I held on for so long... if you don't show up today, I'll completely forget about it... completely."After a few more minutes of sitting in silent with his head leaning back, Guanlin finally came to a decision to give up. He watches as the sky clears up revealing the blue sky, the bright, sunny sun, and rainbows forming.
He reaches for his backpack and stood up, swinging it over his shoulders.
Just as he was about to leave the gazebo, a figure in front of him stop him from doing so.
"G-guanlin-ah..." right before him was the one person he wanted to see most, yet at the same time was the last person he wanted to see. At first he was surprised, but as surprised as he was, his expression changes just as fast from surprised to intimidating. His cold eyes becomes shallow while they continue to stare at Jihoon, who also happens to be drenched.(I'm a lil triggered this gif isn't moving)
"What are you doing here?" Guanlin asks, pulling his wet hair back.
"I-I..." Jihoon stutters. Guanlin lowers his head and narrows his brows.
"If you have nothing to say then I'm going to leave," Guanlin then walks pass Jihoon but was held back.
Jihoon was holding onto the edge of his shirt. "Don't leave.." he chokes up. "Not again," he continues. Guanlin's eyes completely soften as they lay on Jihoon's teary ones.
"What are you talking about?" Guanlin asks, pretending not to know what Jihoon was talking about in order to avoid the pain that was stabbing his chest.
"What if we never see each other again if you leave this time too?"
"We live in the same house. Unfortunately, that means we'll be seeing each other everyday."
"You know that's not what I'm talking about," Jihoon tightened his grip. Guanlin sighs.
"If I say I don't care, what would you do? Will you stop me from leaving?" He place his hand on Jihoon's. "We're not kids anymore and whatever happened back then is gone. Stop holding on to some memories that doesn't exist anymore. You're being pathetic," he lifts Jihoon's hand and shove it away. He then proceed to walk away before he was stopped in his track again.
"I'm just keeping our promise," Jihoon speaks out. "And what's wrong with holding onto memories that is important to you? You can break our promise, but I'm keeping it. So don't even think about trying to stop me," Jihoon glares.
"Do whatever you want. It doesn't concern me. And don't blame me if you get hurt in the process. I didn't tell you to do anything." He looks at Jihoon who was fiercely glaring at him. Even with all the glaring, he couldn't help but find the shorter cute. Funny how he used to think Jihoon was the manliest person he's ever seen, but now he's just this small fragile person that he wanted to protect. He hated everything he had just said to the other. He had already fucked up the relationship between the two so much that he didn't know if it was even possible to fix it again. The End~~~~
