Having A Good Time

After sprinting with the speed of white hipster girls running into Starbucks when they first launched the Unicorn Frappuccino, the two finally got to the door of the almost empty souvenir shop and messily entered, startling a grandma with her young grandson in result.

"P-pardon our intrusion" Joshua said quietly while slightly bowing his head in apology.

"It's okay child, have a wonderful date you two" the old woman nodded and smiled at him

"Da--"

Joshua looked at Jeonghan who was busy brushing off the trickles of water from his hair. The busy lad then noticed that the other lad was staring at him. "Hm? What is it?" he cluelessly asked.

"Nothing" Joshua answered, looking away to hide his probably reddened face. "I didn't know this was a..." he paused. "Actually nevermind" he said, internally screaming his lungs off.

But as the curious cat he was, Jeonghan didn't want to let this slide

"C'mon, what did you want to say?" he snickered.

"Nothing??" Joshua said in a tone that sounded more like a question

"C'mon now!" Jeonghan kept pressuring

"N-no!" it was getting hard for him to keep a straight face

"C'moooon!"

Jeonghan used 'pout'!

"Ugh-- fine!"

It's super effective!

"I... didn't know this was a... a date" he said

Curiosity killed the cat, and Jeonghan was indeed dead because of his curiosity. He literally ran out of reactions to do

"I- eh- yes?? No, I mean--" he fidgeted noticably. "Gosh this is so awkward I'm sorry" he hid his face behind his hands and laughed in embarrassment

"So this is a..." Joshua paused. "...date?" he continued in lower voice

"W-well I mean, unless you don't like it?" he nervously said.

"I don't..." the other man responded

Fuck, I'm sorry Seungcheol, even after your 101 dating advices I still screw up

But as Jeonghan was preparing an apology text to Seungcheol inside his head, he got a warm response from the other young man

"I don't... hate it surprisingly" Joshua laughed. "I'm having a good time here with you Han" he smiled

"Urk--" Jeonghan suppressed his urge to scream

Nevermind then Seungcheol

The heavy rain finally stopped after 2 long hours

"Oh, the rain finally stopped. Let's go Jeonghan!"

"Yeah, wait just a sec!"

Jeonghan quickly grabbed something and went to the cashier to pay and quickly shoved the thing inside his bag. He was hiding something

"Aight, all set, let's blast!" he rhymed lamely

Joshua had his suspicion at Jeonghan already, but he decided not to pursuit. Thank God he wasn't as stubborn as the other man

"Are there any interesting rides we haven't tried out??" Joshua asked, he was still somehow hyper even after the quite long rain.

"Hmm... Lemme think" Jeonghan brainstormed

And then he suddenly got an idea popping up inside his head

Seungcheol's dating advice #8 : ferris wheels are a must if you want to make a move!

So today, Jeonghan's going to take his word for it

"How about... The ferris wheel!" Jeonghan pointed

...

"A rather calm choice, compared to the other ones earlier. Are you sure? Are you tired or something?" the lad asked, followed by Jeonghan's quick nodding

"No, no, I just want a change of pace and all, nothing weird" Jeonghan reasoned

"Okay then" Joshua maintained his smile despite his confusion.

The two walked to the queue for the ferris wheel and they noticed one certain thing :

The queue was filled with lovebirds

Jeonghan and Joshua looked at each other and bursted into laughter

After about 15 minutes in the queue, they finally got in the cabin and sat down facing each other. It was a pretty awkward and embarrassing situation for the two, especially after the staff closed the cabin door. The wheel then started spinning shortly after, and the tiny cabin was filled with silence.

Fucking Seungcheol and his advice. What do I do now? Jeonghan, think!

After shortly thinking of a topic, Jeonghan sloppily broke the silence. "So, Josh, lame question but what college do you go to?" he asked

"What, so you wanted to ride the ferris wheel to do a questionnaire?" he giggled. "Well, I go to [insert cool college name because I'm too lazy to make something up] University, and I'm majoring in business." he answered

"Really?? Wow we go to the same college yet I've never met you in campus. Are you popular?" Jeonghan launched another question, a bold one this time

"Huh? That's such a bold question to ask! Well, I have a few friends"

"How about girls? You popular with them?"

"Umm, I've had some girls confessed to me earlier this semester. About 3 or 4?" he answered modestly

"You punk" Jeonghan teased

"Hey, I'm just being honest!"

"So did you go out with at least one of them?" Jeonghan seemed enthusiastic about this for some reason

"No, I wasn't... How do I put it... interested in any of them?" Joshua brutally said

"Woah, that was savage" Jeonghan laughed and slapped Joshua's thigh. "You're such a cool guy, I would be intimidated if I were a girl" he said

"Thank God you weren't. So how about you Jeonghan? You popular?"

Jeonghan smugly cleared his throat. "Ahem! About that..." he paused. "Well, I'm not exactly YOUR kind of popular. Girls don't get romantically attached to me, but I can say one thing : they're jealous of my hair." Jeonghan said proudly

"Yeah, I can see that" Joshua laughed. "Your hair looks so on point, what exactly did you do?" he asked

"Company secret!" Jeonghan winked (Goddammit Jeonghan)

After all the talking, their cabin was finally at the top of the wheel

"Wow, being at this height really makes you nervous huh" Joshua said

"Hmm? Is someone afraid of heights?" Jeonghan said playfully.

"No, I'm not!" Joshua denied

Soon, the two fell into silence, fascinated with the view from the cabin window.

Jeonghan once again cleared his throat, nervously this time

"J-Josh"

Jeonghan's sudden seriousness also made Joshua somehow nervous

"Y-yeah?"

"Can you... close your eyes?"
