Loud beeps filled the room as my eyes fluttered open and I saw the time was 6:35 a.m. I got up slowly to see Kyle standing next to me already dressed and he had a smile on his face.
"What... How'd you wake up before me?" I asked him as he showed me his phone. I looked at it closely and saw an alarm for 5 a.m. He shut it off and put his phone in the pocket of his black skinny jeans. Then he brushed at his red shirt with a teal skull on it and under the short red sleeves there was blue and teal stripes.
I stood up out of my bed and went over to my closet looking for my blue shorts that are a dark blue. After I put them on I put on a long sleeved pale pink shirt with a short sleeved bright blue T-shirt with a unicorn on the front.
Kyle came back watching me grab out a pair of ankle socks. He slowly walked over and reached over me to grab a pair too. I sighed pulling on my other yellow converse lacing both them up. Kyle put on knee high Gothic teal boots. He slowly looked at me and grinned chuckling with a really creepy look.
"Derek," He started, "let's skip school.. We both know you and I don't want to go. What do you say? And don't chicken out this time OR tell mom."
I stared at him like he was crazy but he was right, I didn't want to go to school.
"Fine." I simply said as he grabbed his comb going into the bathroom. I followed behind him and stood in the door way. He put the comb in his hair combing down the soft blue color then he began teasing it rapidly. The hair that went down to his shoulders was now not that long down. He then grabbed a can of hairspray and began spraying it all over his hair.
I took the comb and began teasing my dirty blond hair with black and rainbow bangs. I then hair sprayed it down. I looked at the perfect scene hair I had made and smiled. Next thing to do to get ready was makeup. I smeared on liquid eyeliner and red eye shadow.
Kyle snatched it from me after I had finished and did the same as I had done to my eyes.
I went into the kitchen to see the time was 7:04 a.m. We have 11 minuets to eat breakfast and walk to "school". As I was thinking about how we were going to pull this off I ate a honeybun and grabbed my bag for school. Kyle skipped breakfast and got his bag as well. Then we heard a ding.
I pulled out my phone to see who the text was from.
"Derek. I am having a Halloween party on Halloween Kyle and you should come!" I read in my head and Kyle was over my shoulder reading the text and frowned.
"Who is having the party?" He asked.
"Jeff and Ben, Why?"
"Wait, the Blalock family?"
"Yes, now why did you want to know?"
"I was just wondering, GOSH?"
I rolled my eyes smirking and we walked outside. A girl passed by wearing a pink short dress, makeup, fishnet tights, blue and green hair, and a Hello Kitty bag. Kyle waved hi and she waved back.
Her name is Kaylee. Kyle likes her A LOT! And I mean A LOT. He would do anything for her.
She stopped in place and I saw him quickly walk over to her. I stood still watching them talk. After a while she kissed his cheek goodbye and left. He came back over to me.
We began walking out of the driveway to the school.
Once we arrived my stomach began to twist.
"Kyle," I began as he looked at me. "I don't know if I can do this... I feel nervous I guess."
"Derek listen to me... We have to OK?"
"Why?"
"Because we can't go there today!"
I sighed and looked at him.
"Whatever," I began just about to change the subject. "So do you think the Halloween party will be fun? I mean come on it's Jeff and Ben they always have fun parties."
"I guess so I'm just terrified something bad will happen... Also Jeff and Ben hate me."
"No."
"YES!"
"Ugh."
Kyle began to shiver and he looked upset. I put my hand on his shoulder and smiled at him trying to make him happy again. But it didn't seem to work.
We walked past the school to the woods and I stopped to check the time on my phone. It was 7:54 a.m. Obviously we were late.
