I ran faster and faster through the woods tripping over sticks and roots. Rain beating down my sholders as it drenches me from head to toe. I try to see through the pitch black of night, but I fail to see clearly, and hit a tree. I look down at my now cut and bloody hands, I don't stop, I continue to run as fast as I can. I stumble as I come to a road, I look both ways in search of headlights, I start running up or down, which one I do not know, the road. After what feels like miles I come to a town. I lpkk behind me to see nothing but road and trees, my worst nightmare no where to be found, I walk to the first store I see, which seems to be a run down gas station, the cashier looks at me horrified I don't blame him I can only imagine what I look like, drenched in rain covered in blood and dirt my hair in tangles, I walk towards him slowly as my legs are in pain from all the running. "Do you have a phone I can use?" I ask him. Wordlessly he hands me a cell phone from his back pocketn I dialed the same number from all those years ago. "I'm coming home." Is all I said before hanging up and handing him the phone back before asking where the nearest hospital was. "Two miles that way." He said pointing further into town. "Thank you." I said walking out of the store leaving him muttering "You're welcome." I jog the two miles to the hospital. For what seemed to be a small town they had an up to date hospital. I sliped through the doors of the emergency room. I snuck down the hall to find a supply room and bathroom. Once I see the supply room at the end of the hall I put my head down and pass a nurse stealing her key card. When I get to the door I look to see if anyone is watching. When I see it's clear I swipe the card and go inside quitely shutting the door. I search for gauze, antiseptic, medical tape, and bandage covers. When I slip back out of the supply room I see the nurse coming back up the hall I use that as the opportunity to clip rhe key card back to her pocket. I find the bathroom down another hall and go inside locking the door behind me. I take a moment to look in the mirror my once flawless pale skin is covered in dirt my light blonde hair tangled and has dirt and sticks in it my light pink gown tattered and stained with blood my once bright blue eyes dull with purple circles around them. I step away from the mirror and lay the stolen supplies on the ground. I pick up the antiseptic first and clean my cuts and wince at the burning I then put gauze over them holding it with the tape then covering them. I stand back up and wet a paper towel cleaning my face next I wet my hair trying to wash the dirt out. When I decide I'm done I walk out of the bathroom going back down the hall. I get to the open office where I first came in to see the police talking to the lady at the front desk. I turn around and start running down the hall to see a stairwell I racw down the stairs to see a door. I threw open the door to see a parking lot I run up the isle to see an incline to ground level. I look around to see a black chevy cruise parked in the lastbparking spot before the incline. Once at the car I break the window the car alarm going off I get in the drivers seat and pull the wires down so I can see them when the car starts I back up and go up the incline to be in patient parking once on the main road I head north. After driving miles I see a sign 'Leaving Tennessee' I had crossed the state boarder. I was going the wrong way.
