Stories are as unique as the people who are telling them, and best kind of stories are those in which the ending is a complete surprise. Well at least, that is what Kaylee Parker has thought when looking back on the times when her dad would tell her stories when she was a little girl. Kaylee would remember when her dad would come in and sit with her at the end of her bed to say goodnight to her and she would beg him to read or tell her a bedtime story because mommy was too tired to do it. Her dad never spoke about or told stories that involved princesses or love it was more about different adventures, danger, excitement and journey's that took place in their home state of Washington. When Kaylee would ask her dad why can't you tell me a story about a princess or a love story, Kaylee's dad would simply say that he didn't want to fill his daughters head with some imagination and dreams that might never come true for his little girl.
Kaylee would often reflect on those moments and wonder is the way that her life is now, is because she didn't have those special little girl moments with her father about fairytales and princesses. Kaylee is now in her late 20's and still trying to find her person to spend her life with that fits the guidelines to her father's standards.
The last time Kaylee was in a serious relationship and was on the verge of finding the one was when she was at the University of Washington, where she was deeply in love with the hunky third basemen for the Huskies. While Kaylee was studying at University of Washington she also was playing for the Huskies softball team as their starting second basemen. The last time that Kaylee and her than boyfriend spoke was the night that changed everything forever, in which Kaylee is still trying to make sense of it all. It goes without saying that Kaylee felt extremely guilty about the situation and that it was her complete fault that the things ended the way it did with her boyfriend, but her father had assured her that the guilt that she was feeling was nothing and that she didn't do anything wrong in the relationship, that everything fell onto him. Kaylee's mother on the other hand had a different feeling about the situation in which she was never allowed to talk to her daughter about because lord would only know what would happen if her father find out what Kaylee's mother knew and that is why to this day Kaylee's mother always reassured her that no one in this world is perfect and that we all make mistakes and have flaws. Her mother would say over and over again "that everyone makes mistakes" and Kaylee would just nod and believe her mother even though she knew that her mother would never experience or know what she is going through at this time.
One-night Kaylee was lying in bed thinking about him and wondering what his life is like...what kind of job does he have, is he married, does he have kids, where is he living now of days. She could easily get all her answers with a click of a button by searching him on the web, but she doesn't want to disappoint her family especially her father, who would how he would react if found out that his "little girl" is still caring on about him, so its best to just let things like that go to rest and not care. Then there are nights where she lets the memories overtake her emotions and would wonder to herself of what would have happened if things were different or if she would ever see him again.
