Things haven't been too good for young and cynical graphic design student, Prisha Cooke. She gets denied an amazing internship opportunity that she practically worked weeks to prepare for, her minimum wage part-time job isn't paying her bills, and she's never felt more disconnected from her family. So, when she witnesses a man named Birk being beaten up by a gang, the newly-found target on her back is just the icing on the cake.

Against her better judgement, she takes the injured man Birk in to her home, half-afraid of the legal repercussions, but even more afraid of being targeted without any protection. Days pass, and Prisha soon discovers that there's more to Birk than just a rough-around-the edges personality and a foul-mouth. Prisha knows better than to trust suspicious men, but there is more to Birk than he seems, and she's determined to find out.
