Today was the big day, the day were everything can change in an instant. This decision decided whether you truly belonged in your original faction, or into another that will become your new family. That honestly was a scary thought to think about especially at this age. You had to do this just at the age of sixteen. What if I never get to see my family or friends here anymore? That was the most terrifying thought to be honest.
I could hear the sound of my mothers voice yell out to from the field that it was time to go. Just at that moment I felt a cold dance down my spine. Just to shuffle my feel against the dirt that had been dried up since they had been using it for farming. This faction was everything to me. Amity taught me to stay calm and friendly, but to also stand your ground if you have to. I could hear the sigh leave my fathers lips as we arrived to the main building. Thousands were in the lines, and god. It was somewhat intimidating. Just the thought of having all these kids possibly going into the same faction made me, nervous?
"Name?" a man in black asked me, just to answer him shortly after. "George Shelley." only to see him nod. Why would he want to know my name? Did I do something wrong? Well, it's whatever now. After this I'm gonna be a new person. I felt the cold air hit my face, I knew this was it. There was no going back now. I felt a tug at my wrist, and then letting my feet follow where the other tugged me. I coud Feel the cold leather hit my bottom. "I love you mom." I spoke softly, just to see a grin form on her features. "I love you too sweetie. I'll love you no matter what faction you chose." she whispered into my ear.

My heart raced, my palms were sweaty. Did I really just get called or is this a dream or even nightmare? I took a deep breath, just taking a few steps forwards. Grabbing a hold of the tiny silver knife, and holding it up to the palm of my hand. Just looking at the choices, and then one stood out. I wasn't too sure why it did, but something gripped my attention about it. I let the knife rip my skin open, just letting the drop of blood fall into the Dauntless faction. Instantly hearing cheers and screams come from behind me. I shifted my weight to look behind me. All of Dauntless was cheering for me, they all were. A smile grew on my lips as I took my first few steps to the others. I could spot a few of my old pals in the distance. Seeing them wave their hands all the way up at me. I felt the laugh slip my lips as I sat myself down beside them.
"Welcome to Dauntless Georgie boy! We missed ya!" Josh told me, Jaymi nodding in agreement with him. "How is amity though? Like has it changed?" Jaymi asked me. I just shrugged, " Not really, everything's the same. The only thing that's different are the some of the crops we grow.". I heard the laugh leave Josh's lips sortly afterwards, "Well, you're in for a treat here. We're all pretty friendly here, but the training is torturous George. I really hope you're up for it."

The feeling of adrenaline rush through my veins was nice, different to be exact. Flips, and jumping off the train was definitely thrilling. But this, jumping off the side of a building was more than thrilling to be honest. My head was just hanging down, looking at the distance of the drop. I felt the gulp, and then heard laughter. "Come on hippie, we don't have all day!" One of the kids spoke out. I felt the anger rush through me, and then I did it. I just made my way downwards, feeling the air hit me constantly. Only to then feel a sudden stop, by what? By A little rope thing, seeing another person at the edge. "Hi there, I'm JJ and welcome to Dauntless. I'll be training you and the rest. So get your way up to the rooms. We have a surprise there. By the way, what's your name?" he told me, just to give him a simple nod. "George Shelley's the name sir." I spoke to him, just to then smile at him and wave goodbye. He didn't wave nor say goodbye to me. It was kind of rude to be honest, but I'm not gonna let something so small get me down. This place was, different for sure. The rooms were different, and the bathrooms made me feel uncomfortable. showering in front of others doesn't really seem all that good. I kind of don't wanna show my "stuff" off in front of everyone else. These clothes were quite depressing as well. Dark Grey and black really doesn't make you all that happy to be honest. I heard a voice call out for all of us, just to then spring up from the bed. Rushing to where the dining hall was, only to see every single person in dauntless there. Wow, was it a sight. Everyone was cheering for us new people, why would they? I guess it's just a custom every single year. Seeing in the distance Josh, and Jaymi wave at me. Then there was that guy sitting next to them, giving me some sort of, glare? I shoved myself through everyone just to get to them. "Georgie boy! Hey, have a seat." Josh spoke as he looked up at me. I looked down at the bench, seeing an available seat next to JJ. Just slipping myself next to him, only to hear, "I don't usually let people sit next to me.". Shit, please don't tell me he's upset about it was all I thinking.
I sure missed these lads, and these conversations. They made it seem like this place was just amazing. Everything was going well so far, his old best friends were there, and the place was full of badass, and nice people. "Hey, kid. Sorry about dinner, I really didn't mean to make you uncomfortable or anything." JJ told me. I turned around to see him, just nodding as I listened to his words. "Well, it's fine. No need to apologize." I told him with a little goofy smile. "I'll see ya tomorrow, George." He said as someone else announced for us to go to bed.
