I was riding in the car with my mom hanging out the back seat window when a machete came swinging out of the woods and cut half my face off killing me instantly.
I know what your wondering, then how an I telling you this. My name is Oliver Sylum and this is my story. So stick around and you may figure it out, however, we have to go a little while back to when I was 15 years old.
The day was new, I just got to school and I see my friends standing by the wall like usual, but something was off.
There was this girl standing beside them that I had never seen before.
Not thinking much of it, I walked over to my friends, " Hey guys"
     "Hey Oliver" every one says.
     "Hey" says the girl.
    "Who's this??" I asked.
    "I'm Clementine. I'm new here."
"Kinda figured. Never seen you here before," I said. "My name's Oliver."
"Yeah, kinda figured since that's what your friends just called you," she smirked.
All of a sudden a fight broke out between these two kids nearby.
"Come on guys" said my friend, and they ran toward the fight, but Clementine stood there.
     "What's wrong" I asked.
She stood there shaking, not saying a word.
"Clementine" I said louder. She looked at me with fear in her eyes.
"It's ok," I assured her. "It's just a fight. A few teachers should be here soon to break it up."
"It's not that" she said. "I've seen this before. I've seen it all before. We need to leave now!"
Looking puzzled, I asked, "wh..." but before I could finish my sentence I heard screaming and people starting to run.
Then I saw it, the reason she wanted to leave. One of the kids that were fighting pulled out a knife and stabbed the other kid in the throat and was proceeding to chase and stab other kids!
"WE NEED TO GO!!"screamed Clementine, but I couldn't move. It was like something was holding me there or calling me towards the kid with the knife.
I went to take a step towards him, but right at that time my friend Oscar, who is a tall husky kid that is on the football team, picked me up.
"No you don't," he said with a smile. "Not dying today, little man." He then proceeded to run off campus with me over his shoulder.
Clementine followed us and a large group of kids were behind her and in all of that crowd were the rest of my friends.
We ran down the street a little ways  till we got to Oscar's house and rushed quickly inside, locking the door behind us.
"Do you think we're safe?" I asked      "No one is getting in here with me around", said Oscar, looking heroically in a random direction.
"What are you doing?" said Clementine with a confused face.
"I don't know, it just felt right," Oscar stated.
"Well at least we're safe," Clementine said."
We went to the living room and sat down on the couch. "How did you know this was going to happen?" I asked Clementine.
"I saw it in a dream once but this isn't the first thing I saw though."
"When did you start having these dreams?"
"A few weeks ago when that virus escaped from a lab in my old town."
"Just like what happened here" Oscar explained, "it happened a few days ago in a lab and then this happens. Quite a coincidence, don't ya think."
"What if someone is targeting these labs and releasing viruses," I said. "Causing Clementine to get infected, however, different labs have different viruses."
"So the virus from this lab makes people go insane?" Oscar said. "And the one from her town makes people see the future?"
"That would explain why she is having these dreams," I said.
"Yeah, so different labs have different viruses that do different things," Clementine stated. "That makes perfect sense."
"Well their's nothing we can do about it so lets just watch TV," Oscar suggested.
"Sounds good," Clementine and I said simultaneously.
We turned on the news in hoping to figure out what exactly was going on.
"There was a massive stabbing at a local school today. What started as a simple fight led to over 50 dead and 65 injured. The guy responsible for this sad event is 15 year old Ryan Owen who has not been found yet and is suspected to be hiding in the woods. If you have any information upon his current where abouts please call 555-whereabout. Police are still not sure what caused these events to happen but people are believing that it is a virus that escape from a local lab. Police advise that locals stay inside and off the streets." A news women stated, standing in front of the crime scene.
We saw almost 2 dozen police and ambulances pass by his house, We could hear the loud sirens coming from the school.
When his mother got home, she had tears running down her face. She was relieved to see us all safe, causing her to pull us all into a bone crushing hug. She proceeded to call my parents to inform them that I was safe and where we were.
She looked curiously towards Clementine, "who are you?" she asked.
"I'm Clementine. I'm new to town. In fact, this is my first day here."
"Well, I don't think your going back to school for a little while. What's your mom's number? She would be glad to know your safe."
She and Clementine called her parents, to which they were glad to hear that she was safe. But they couldn't get to us yet because of the road blocks so they just told her to stay there till everything calms down.
We didn't have anything to do, so we did nothing but just sit there and watched TV. Hours passed. It was almost dark now and none of us had eaten all day.
Oscar's mom made homemade pizza for us. The day set into night and no one was able to get around the road blocks yet.
"There's only one guest room." Oscar said, "who wants it?"
"I can sleep on the couch. It won't be the first time" I said.
"Ok," Oscar said. "Clementine you get the bed."
That night was rough. I didn't get any sleep thinking about what had happened that day. What will happen in the days to come? When will we be going back to school? I did know one thing though, I didn't want to see Ryan anytime soon, and anyone who was infected. I don't have a clue what to think, but I know I don't want to die.
At that time Clementine came walking out of the guest room, "Hey, are you awake?" she asked.
    "Yeah, I can't sleep," I said.
"Neither can I. It was all so scary what happened today and seeing it twice made it even more terrifying."
"Yeah, I'm glad that you and Oscar were there or I would probably be dead."
"Yeah, but why were you about to walk towards him?" Clementine asked.
"I don't know. It felt like something was calling me and pulling me to him."
"That's not scary at all," she sarcastically said.
"Tell me about it," I chuckled. "But for you this experience must suck because your new and this is all happening on your first day at school and a lot of people end up dying."
"I would rather not talk about it."
    "Sorry."
At that time we just sat there wondering about what will happen next. I turned on the TV, setting the volume low so I didn't wake anyone up.
We just sat there watching what we could find. I flipped through the channels, quickly stopping once I saw my favorite horror movie was on, "The Conjuring". As soon as I did this, Clementine grabbed my blanket and covered up.
"What's wrong? You scared." I asked, smiling knowing what's wrong.
"Yes, I am. After everything that happened today and you want to watch horror movies!"
"Yeah, I love this movie." I said. She glared at me angrily.
"Come on, I'll protect you." I said and held out my hand.
Two days, it took two days, for everything to clear from the school. However it was going to take longer for us to go back since the town had a memorial day for all the victoms of the stabbing.  I took notice of how many police was on guard that day.
A few weeks pass and we were finally allowed to go back to school. I remember dreading the first day back, but I was excited to see my friends.
On the way to school that morning as soon as we started on the road, I stuck my head out the window and less than a minute down the road a machete came swinging out of the woods cutting my head in two.
