The Soccer Ball to My Face

I wasn't no ordinary girl. I came from a troubled past and my parents weren't surprised when I expelled from my last school. We moved to California from Georgia for a new start. Now your wondering "why did you get expelled from your last school?" Simple answer so called know my ex boyfriend was being a dick to me, like physically abusive so one day I threw a dictionary and yelled "sticks and stones may break my bones and words will never hurt me." See that's my backstory.

Now for the good part, I walked into my first period which was Geometry. I walked in and the teacher welcomed me and introduced my to the class. "Class this is Miss Sara Porter from Georgia. Would you like to say anything Miss Porter?" They teacher said. I nodded my head and began to speak, "Hi I'm Sara, I just moved here from Savannah Georgia and I'm basically the biggest soccer geek you'll ever meet" I couldn't help to look back at the boy who was staring at me and biting his lip.

The teacher told me to sit down and there ended up being an empty seat right next to the boy. He turned to me smiling and said "Hi I'm Thomas Williams but everyone calls me Tommy." I nodded my head and turned to the bored pulling my notebook out.

The class period went by slow even though it was 50 minutes. Tommy waited at the door for me and asked "so are you trying out for the girls soccer team? I play soccer as well it would be fun if we did a one on one." I looked over to him and smiled. "A one on one. I'll beat your ass any day." We got to my locker and he put his hand over my head. "Well okay Shirley Temple. How about today after school. The field at the local park." He said seeing his girlfriend walking by, he quickly took his hand down above my head.

The girl walked reaching up to get her arms around his neck. "Hi peeper." She said giggling. I could tell he was unhappy in his relationship. "Hi Amber. This is Sara Porter. Sara this is Amber Crossings, my girlfriend." He said scratching the back of his head. Amber gave me the "bitch is you don't back off my man" look. I quickly backed off and turned to Tommy, "so today after school at the field at the local park" I asked double checking myself. He nodded and then I quickly walked away to get to my 2nd period which was Latin. I hurried down the hall to the Latin classroom.

Since I only had three classes a day. I was almost done with my first day at this new school. I got into my Latin class and to my enjoyment Tommy walked in with his two friends. Tommy sat in the empty seat by me and his two friends sat behind me. I turned to Tommy and asked who the two boys were. He replied with "Sara meet Chase Gilles and Isaiah Jacobs the biggest goofballs of the school. Isaiah, Chase this is Sara Porter the girl of my dreams. I mean she claims to be a better soccer player" he said correcting the "girl of my dreams" part.

We all started laughing. "So you two having a one on one soccer game today?" Chase asked. "Ya today at the local park field." Tommy said. Isaiah interrupted saying "sweet I'm on team Tommy. Chase you'll be on team Sara." I turned to Chase and I saw him blush at Isaiah's comment.

"Shit we'll need goalies. Chase you'll be my goalie. Isaiah you'll be Tommy's goalie." I said looking at Tommy. We all stayed quiet until the end of the class period. When the bell rang I headed to History breaking off of the group of boys.

To my luck Amber was in my History class. I snuck in gong to the back of the class and sitting down. I was the only one in the row. I heard my History teacher say "Ah Miss Porter please move up a row." Amber turned her head looking at me. "Ah isn't it little miss boyfriend stealer. You better not still Tommy away." She whispered, I rolled my eyes at the stupid comment she made.

The end of the class bell rang and I ran out of the classroom meeting the boys at my locker. They had one more class of the day, but we all exchanged numbers and I left school. I created a group chat and since we all had iPhones I named the chat "my side hoes." The boys all laughed at the group chat name . I texted "see y'all on the soccer field." I left the chat dead silent.

It was the end of the school day for the boys and we all met up on the soccer field. Isaiah wanted to make it funnier and went "okay ladies we want a good clean match. Shake hands and hug" Tommy and I hugged and the boys laughed at him since he was blushing.

We started off the game really fair but we had to go into overtime. Tommy had 14 points and I had 14 points. We decided to make a game winning shot. Well the game winning shot went straight into my face. I passed out for like ten minutes I saw Chase over my face holding a ice pack to my head and Isaiah over with Tommy, trying to calm Tommy down.

I got up when Chase was telling me to stay down. "I want to go home." I said. Chase replied "well I'm going to walk you home" he said. Chase helped me up and he walked me home.

"Shit my parents aren't home, will you be comfortable staying with me for awhile?" I said walking threw the front door with Chase behind me. "I rather not leave you in this condition" he said sitting on my couch. I put on Netflix and fell asleep on his lap.
