One day, I asked my three-year-old daughter why she kept making funny faces at a blank wall.
"She likes them," she replied sweetly.
When I asked who "she" was, she responded in that same sweet, innocent voice: "the girl hanging from that old rope."
She then proceeded to put her hands around her neck, as if strangling herself, and lay her head limply to one side, clearly imitating someone who's hanged themselves while staring intently at the wall...
