It has been said that something as small as the flutter of a butterfly's wing can ultimately cause a typhoon halfway around the world - Chaos Theory
The rope didn't burn or hurt when it touched, it felt like he was being caressed by an angel. His bare feet touched the cold wood of the chair and his senses were fluttering. Numbness wasn't a sensation he could relate to anymore, rather, a sensation mixing the relaxation and relief that will come once the pain subsides and his soul flees his body like a slave from his chains. Still, specks of ignored pain haunted his stomach like a midwestern crossroads. In this confrontation of emotions, his eyes met the worn out blue pen on his desk next to the page containing his final message to the cruel unforgiving world he was forced to reside in.

The worn out paint on the blue pin, the small rust building within the mechanism of the pen to the carving into the worn out metal side of the pen made him recollect to the exact moment he received that pen and made a career out of writing for the masses. Fitting that this pen would be the first thing to stop him, it was also the first thing that stopped him almost a decade earlier, during his senior year of high school.
