Lost in the dark

Luna's pov:
I always had a tough life my parents never supported me and my lgbtq lifestyle. Me marrying Lilly the girl of my dreams made them lose all contact to me. But love is love I guess
When Lilly came home that day telling me she works for NASA I was shocked and happy but mostly scared for if something ever happened to her.
We needed up adopting a little girl.
We named her Star because We loved space.
Star grew up away from Lilly and only thought of me as her mom. But the day Lilly disappeared was the day that broke me and our family apart.
You see I was feeding Star some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and I realized I haven't got a call from Lilly in a month and she always calls me within two weeks or three so I started to worry I called NASA straight away.
"Hello"it was mark from the front office.
"Hi it's Luna is my wife there?"I asked my voice shaking.
He didn't say anything.
"Mark!? Where's my wife"I yelled.
"You might want to come down"he said. He hung up.
I grabbed Star.
"Mommy where are we going?"she asked.
"We're gonna see where Lilly is sweetheart and see her job"I said grabbing her stuff.
"Yayyy!"she shouted.
I put her in her car seat and drove.
Why would they want me there?
It doesn't make any sense.
When I got there Mark was outside I grabbed Star and her stuff and we followed him in.
He led me to the office where Lilly's boss works. His name is Chris or Mr.Moon.
"Ah Luna come in"Chris said.
"Chris where's my wife"I asked.
"Ok she went on a mission to mars two weeks ago but I think she's lost in space"he said.
I stopped moving.

Lilly's pov:
When they asked me if I wanted to go to mars for a mission I said yes of course but I didn't have time to tell Luna my wife.
It's been weeks since I saw her. I held onto everything and we went up it was me and Jake up in space.
Then it happened we were hit and lost contact.
"Ah !! God Lilly we lost contact and the engine"Jake said.
"Crap!!"I said.
I pulled the lever to get the back off and it went.
I looked at Jake and looked at the photo of Luna and Star.
Ill find my way to you guys I promise.

Luna's pov:
I grabbed my bag and grabbed everything.
"Mark let's go"I said handing Chris my kid.
"Mommy"she cried.
I grabbed Marks hand and pulled him grabbed the space stuff.
"Luna what are your doing"Chris yelled.
I locked the Door and Mark and I got in the rocket.
"I'm finding my wife Mr.Moon keep us in contact.
Then we were off once we hit the atmosphere it was nuts.
The earth looked so big I took a picture.
"Luna you are crazy"Chris said through the speaker.
I smiled
"Yeah I know"I said.
Then we were off we were close to the moon when we heard another signal.
"Hello"mark said.

Lilly's pov:
We've been in space for two weeks Jake is hurt and it's hard we have food to last two more days and air for about 4 more days.
Then we heard it
"Hello"said the speaker.
A rocket must be close to us.
"Hello ?"I said in the speaker.
Then a dark light appeared. It was different I recorded it.
"Lilly it's mark do you the black light"he said.
"Yeah mark"I said.
"It's Luna do you have enough gas to go about 2100 feet?"he asked.
"What the heck is my wife doing here Mark?"I asked.
"Just answer my question Lilly"he said.
"No we have about enough for 897 feet though"I said.
"Crap is everyone ok"he asked.
"No jake is injured and he's not gonna last for another 42 hours"I said.
"God this is harder Luna come back in we have to get away from the black light"he said.
"Tell my wife I love her mark"

Luna's pov:
"Tell my wife I love her mark"
"I love you Lilly"I said.
I heard her laugh.
"Luna we got a mark on them go about 1253 feet ahead"Chris said.
"Mommy I believe you will find her"Star said.
I drifted the rocket forward when the door opened.
Mark was there. I threw a helmet on.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING"I yelled.
"Your not leaving here alive!!"he yelled.
Then he pushed me and I went out.

Lilly's pov:
I saw a rocket it was mark he got me and Jake on.
I didn't see Luna.
"Where's my wife?"I asked.
"I'm sorry"he said.
I started crying.
we went back to earth. When we got there Chris starting beating Mark.
"CHRIS STOP"I yelled.
"Go back to space now!"he yelled.
"Why?"I asked.
"Luna has 21 hours to live"he said.
I ran fast.

Luna's pov:
I was thinking of that poem Lilly wrote about darkness and light I understand it now.
With all the solar systems that's it light and with the darkness that's the dark.
That poem was beautiful
-Flashback-
"Luna I'm gonna tell you a poem"Lilly said.
I smiled.

One star
One moon
Formed.
Light and darkness in prevail.
The darkness is the key
The light is the heart
Without it all will crumble

I looked at her confused.
-end of flashback-
I closed my eyes thinking of Lilly how hard it gonna be when she's recused and I'm not home.
How star will grow up without a parent around.
Then I saw it.
The rocket.
Then my love.
Even though there's darkness there's always a light to guide you back to where you belong.
