A/N: This is very much a Harry Potter AU story. Things will be changed due to my character being added in and taking Harry in later on. Sorry for the kind of slow start by the way, but I wanted to showcase the relationship between Harry and my character Amzie while they were younger. There is almost a 7 year age difference between the two as well. I will try and stick to Canon when it comes to things that have to happen in order for the story to progress but I'm letting you know right now things are going to change alot still. Sorry if you don't like that! Thanks for reading!

START STORY

"There was a time when I was alone, nowhere to run and no place to call home, my only friend was the man in the moon and even sometimes," I sing to myself happily as I brush through my wavy hair.

A sudden shriek, loud and shrill, echos through the house causing me to jump and Dudley - my one year old brother - to start crying in the room over.

As daddy's footsteps race downstairs, I rush into the baby's room and pick him up, rocking him and humming - although calming him down is no easy task, he's a rather fussy baby and mum likes to hold him alot. Especially when he's crying.

So always.

Mum and Dad's voices drift up the stairs as I carefully make my way to the top before sitting and scooting on my bottom down them - it's safer this way when I'm holding Duddy, he's a rather chubby baby and I'm always afraid to drop him when coming down the steps.

"ABSOLUTELY NOT! I WILL NOT HAVE ONE UNDER MY ROOF, DO YOU HEAR ME PETUNIA! NOT UNDER MY ROOF!" Daddy screams but mum seems to be crying more than anything.

"Wh-What choice do we have Vernon? What if -" Mum gasps through her tears - "Oh what if they come after Amzie or Duddy? We have to do what they want!"

Her voice is shrill and neither seems to see us at the bottom of the steps at first. But when Duddy gives a sudden belch and spits up all over the floor in front of us they both stop and turn as if they'd forgotten we could be in the house.

"Oh Duddykins, mummy's precious baby, oh my darling! What's wrong sweetums, what's gotten you so upset? Is your tummy hungry Duddykins?" Mum is quick to rush forward and take the baby from my arms, worried he's sick.

Daddy, red faced and angrier than I've seen, storms past us and out the door from work.
Worried I rush after him and throw my arms around him from behind, causing him to stop in his tracks in surprise.

"Love you Daddy! Have a good day at work!" I smile up at him as he turns to look at me.

Still looking angry but not quiet as red faced, he smiles and kisses my forehead causing me to giggle - his mustach tickles.

After watching him drive off, I make my way back inside and hear mum in the kitchen feeding Dudley while a quieter cry comes from the living room. Walking past the couches and along the photos lining the walls, I find a good sized basket laying on the coffee table. Inside the basket, to my surprise, is a dark haired, green eyes, crying baby boy with a strange red scratch on his forehead.

"Hey sweetums," I coo, remembering how mum talks to Dudley and I when we're upset and crying as I reach to unwrap the blanket and pick him up. "Where did you come from, I wonder? You feel like you've got a wet nappie, is that why you're, upset?"

Walking into the kitchen, I cradle the baby and rejoice at how much easier it is to carry him than my brother. "Mummy, who's this baby belong to? He's awfully wet, think he needs a fresh nappie."

Turning from Dudley - who is sitting in a high chair and tossing handfuls of food on to the floor - to me, mum gasps and snatches the now quiet baby from my arms, only for him to start wailing again which causes Dudley to wail and me to cover my ears.
