I must have been technically awake for about an hour before I opened my eyes because I was definitely conscious, just in some sort of hazy bubble as it was a Sunday morning.

All of my housemates were home for the summer but I'd stayed to get some more work done and because my parents had retired to France as soon as I left for Uni. It was almost as if they were counting down the days towards the end if I'm honest.

I hauled myself out of the bedsheets and went to open my window. Bristol was lovely in the morning, it was lovely all day really. Renting in Clifton was bloody expensive but it was just lovely. Looking out the window I could see that the cat that sometimes visits us was on the door step.

"Oh fuck off" I muttered, she was always annoying me and she only came back because the boys in the house used to feed her. By the time I got downstairs I could hear her claws pitifully scratching at the door so I opened it to stop the noise. She darted straight up to Jake's room on the second floor. "He's not in cat, he's at home" I shouted upstairs. But she didn't care, she likes it in there because the sun shines right onto his bed and she can lie there for ages without him getting annoyed.

I ate half a bagel, made tea and went back upstairs. Once in my room I pulled out some checked trousers, my docks, a t-shirt and a denim bomber jacket. Then I googled the weather instead of looking out of the window because clearly I'm affected by the lull of technology. Seeing it was hot I put the jacket back.

I just tied up my hair because it was greasy but the effort of washing it was too great. My eyebrows are dark enough without makeup so I just put on some mascara and I was all set to look fairly okay. Yay.

I picked up the other half of the bagel, left the house and started walking.
