It had happened, Stiles Stilinski had stood up to Erica Reyes. He couldn't believe the courage and confidence he got once her arms had grabbed him and she pushed him against the wall. He loved not being scared of her, Derek, or anyone in the pack. Things had happened and he had grown, even if nobody else saw it. As he followed her around, he couldn't help but see how much she had changed. He remembered looking at her in P.E, waiting for his turn to climb the wall, she had looked so scared before, and now...she was so different. So strong, brave, and dangerous. He looked at her, seeing her put everything together, his mouth falling open. She was so smart, that hadn't changed. Deep down, she was still the sweet and smart Erica that he had known. Maybe not known, but seen around. If he had approached her before, would she be any different as a werewolf? Would she be a werewolf at all?
Stiles looked at Erica. She used to have a crush on him before. Was she lying to him? No, she wasn't. Looking at her face, he saw nothing but honesty. Why would she even be lying to him like that? There had been his answer, if he hadn't been so busy running after Lydia, she wouldn't be the way she was. Lydia had always ignored him and what had he done? Gone after her, when a wonderful girl like Erica had liked her. Everything was so messed up, but he couldn't exactly talk to her about it because just then Scott and Jackson came out fighting. He went to Scott and was glad to see that Erica was strong enough to hold off Jackson.
When he worked with her in the library, he couldn't help but allow his mind to wonder. Although he was also brought back by the topic they were having. Jackson. Everything was so weird. When the Kanima attacked, he watched Jackson leave. He looked around for Erica, being the first to notice her and running to her side. He put his arms around her without thinking, wanting to calm her down. "Sh. Sh." He told her, even though he knew it wouldn't help, but she would probably hear his voice. He hated having to wait as Scott talked to Allison, but said nothing.
As Derek broke her arm to heal her, he looked at him, asking what he was doing in a scared and angered voice. She was in so much pain, he could see it in her face and feel her muscles tense against him. He held her harder as she moved and screamed, wanting to make it all go away. When Erica reached up to touch him, he looked down at her hand, surprised.
As she spoke, he looked at her quickly. "Stiles....You make a good Batman." She told him and his heart skipped a few beats. Looking into her eyes, he saw a different sparkle. He was finally Batman to someone, he wasn't just Robin anymore.
He was glad when Scott and Derek walked outside to talk. She had fainted in his arms already and he didn't know what to do, he wanted to talk to her. He settled for closing the door and holding her close, glad that she had calm down and her breathing had returned to normal. After a while, she began to move against him.
"S-Stiles." Erica said quietly, and he brushed hair out of her face, just like he had before when she was about to tell him he made a good Batman.
"I'm right here, Erica. I'm right here." He whispered, slowly leaning down to place a quick kiss on the top of her head.
She opened her mouth to say something, but closed it again. Instead pressing herself closer against him, burying herself in his chest. "T-Thank you-u." She finally said quietly, looking up at him and reaching up to touch the side of his cheeks with her hand.
Stiles pressed his face into her hand. "I'm Batman. It's what i do." He said teasingly, looking down at her and giving her a lopsided smile. Even close to death, she looked adorable and perfect. He didn't know what he would've done if she had died.
"Oh shut up." Erica said with a smile, obviously telling him that she was kidding and getting better by the second. "I'm Catwoman. Remember that. Don't make me scratch you."
