Charlis POV:

my eyes darted around the cave. A sickening feeling washed over me as I looked at Brittney. I tried so hard to hold back the tears, But I just couldn't. I mean my parents are probably dead... I just watched one of my friends rip out my teachers throat. How could anyone be mentally stable after that?

Xander came back down the weird cave slope.

How does something like that get naturally made?

He walked over and looked at me. My eyes widened as he handed me a small make shift dagger.

"W...what am I supposed to do with this!?" I looked directly into his dead eyes.

"Survive." That was his response just one word, he walked away.

I stared at the sharpened metal chunk I was handed. It had a bandage wrapped around it to prevent the holder of cutting themselves.

I need some air.

Getting up I wiped the tears that soaked my skin. I suddenly felt ready for this. Like I knew I needed to do this. I needed to help protect them.

"Where are you going?" Isabell and Brittney spoke in perfect unison.

"I'm taking a walk. I'll be back before dark..." My voice felt cold. Like a part of me just died.

I walked out into the world around me and followed the path back to the fence. The sky was a deep red. It looked like an ocean of blood.

"Why is this happening..." I muttered under my breath before pushing my way through the hole in the fence. Catching my blond hair. "Ow!"

I was stuck.

"You have gotta be kiddi-" I started to say before a voice spoke behind me.

"Need some help there?" A soft chuckle filled his voice.

I took a deep breath.

"Yeah that'll be great."

The man bent down onto one knee, starting to untangle my hair from the damned fence.

He finished, getting up. He held a baseball bat, and had a pistol slipped into the side of his jeans. I looked up at him.

Smiling I said "thx." I started to walk away.

He grabbed my arm.

I turned with a puzzled look on my face.

"Now a young girl, like yourself shouldn't be wandering around out here alone." I smiled a disturbing grin. "It's dangerous and all kinds of dangerous people wonder out here."

"Let go on me!" I pulled my arm, trying to break free. His grip was strong.

The palm of his hand slammed against my cheek. A small Yelp escaping my lips.

"Now listen here! Your gonna come with me easily or forcefully.!" The grin left his face and a dark glare took over.

This man was crazy!

I pulled the dagger out of my pocket. Jabbing at his direction. He grabbed my other arm and pushed me against the fence. Getting right in my face. Squeezing my wrist until I dropped the dagger.

Anger spread throughout my body. His eyes widened with fear, the world around her had a slight coat of red, and a small red orb blasted from her sending the man flying.

Engulfed with anger Charli stepped towards the man. Red orbs glowing around her hand.

"I suggest you stay away from people. This is a new world." She smiled as the orbs faded and the colour in her eyes returned to normal. "Dangerous people wander around out here."

She turned and headed back to the cave.

There was nothing out here that she needed to do. Not anymore.

Her smile faded and she started panicking.

What the hell did I just do? Did I do that?! How did I do that? Am I a super hero?!

She needed to tell her friends. Hurrying back to the cave she passed the green rock. Brynn was rubbing it. Pushing off the dirt.

What is she doing?

"I'm cleaning off the meteor." She turned to look at me. "Wanna help?"

I stood there confused. How did she know I was about to ask her? Maybe it was just a coincidence.

I made my way over and started pushing off dirt and mud. It was warm to the touch.

I prepared myself to say: why is this happening?

Before I could get the words out. Brynn interrupted.

"It doesn't matter how, what matters is what we do with our powers. These abilitys should be tested. We need to know their extent of power. Better yet learn to control them." Her voice was calm.

"W...what the hell." I looked directly at her."how do you know about that?"

She looked up at me. I stared into her eyes as they flashed a megenta colour. Causing me to smile. She has powers too...

Hey Brynn can you hear me?

She sent me a smile. "Yes Charli, I can."

I couldn't help but feel over joyed. I wasn't scared I was happy.

We finished pushing the mud and dirt off the rock. The green light emitting from it was strong.

"There's a poisonous gas emitting from it, some people die when they come in contact with the gas. Others turn into a monster, who's personalities resemble a zombie. But us Charli, and others like us. We turn into these power baring superhumans. We weren't given these powers as a coincidence. Whoever made this...or whatever made it... wanted some people to gain abilitys. It wants this. But why?"

"Wait....so does that mean! Brittney, Izzy, and calah should have abilitys?"

"Why don't we go figure that out right now." She stood up. Smiling.

They started walking towards the cave.

Unprepared for what was to come.
