His head shot up instantaneously at the sound of her name. His green eyes locked onto her slim and petite form as she locked up her bike and walked over to the book store she worked at. His gaze traveled south, as he devoured the sight of her gentle curves, the natural sway of her hips, and the happy bounce to her steps. His angel was always in such a good mood and it made his heart swell with love. The girl who had called her over, hugged her tightly and laughed along with something she had said. He tried not to make it apparent he was watching her, but it was so difficult when she was so perfect. Long wavy caramel brown hair, smooth olive skin and the brightest hazel eyes, he had ever seen. He quickly jammed his papers into his bag, quickly getting up and running towards her, determined to finally talk to her now that her friend was leaving. He had a feeling today would definitely be the day he asked her out. Maybe to the cafe down the street, that she always goes to, or the small shop around the corner, that he knew for a fact was her favorite boutique. He pushed the door, stepping into the store, the smell of books and pages, hitting him square in the face. He took a deep breath, easily noting the slight smell of lavender, his angel's unique smell. He made his way through the small bookshelves, his height easily allowing him view of her small form, struggling to reach a package of books on the top shelf. He wasn't sure why the manger allowed her to work by herself in the mornings until the others joined her at 2, but he wasn't complaining, at least now he got to talk to her privately.
"Excuse me, do you need help? "
She jumped a little, obviously startled by the sudden voice, but she threw a gently smile at him, that faded as soon as she saw who the voice belonged to.
" Can I help you Harry? "
He couldn't stop smiling, regardless of her cold tone towards him. He felt as though he was in a trance looking up at his angel on that ladder. He never knew she had freckles, scattered like cinnamon drops on her cheeks. He had to hold back a grin at the perfect view he had of her underwear, and debated whether he should tell her or not.
"I-I wanted to talk to you Cali. "
She rolled her eyes, staring at him intently for a few moments before speaking up.
" If your not buying anything than leave Harry, I don't want to talk to you. "
She turned her back on him, signaling for him to leave. He wasn't sure why she hated him so much. He never did anything to hurt her and he made it pretty clear that he practically adored her. He decided he wouldn't tell her he could see under her skirt, but only because she was being so unnecessarily rude to him.
"Are you doing anything tonight? "
She had better say yes, whenever he asked her out, there was always something. He was beginning to think she was lying and making up excuses to him.
" Can't, I have to babysit tonight. "
" For who? "
He was starting to get upset with his angel. Why wouldn't she give him a chance. If only she knew how much he loved her, what he would give up for her, the things he would do for her.
" A friend of my mum sorry"
She shrugged him off, finally having reached the package, and stepping down from the ladder.
"How about tomorrow night then? P-Please tell me your free. "
She began walking away, taking quick and hurried strides to get away from him.
" Sorry, movie night with the friends. "
I quickly followed her, stopping in front of her to block her from going anywhere.
" Then when can we go out. Come on Cali, just give me a chance. "
She forced a smile, taking a few steps back, and placing the package in between us.
" How about I come find you when I'm free. How about that, does that sound cool with you Harry? "
I let out a relieved breath. For a moment I almost thought she didn't want to go out with me. I smiled at her, wanting to pull her in for a kiss, but I didn't want to frighten her, I'd wait until we went out.
" That sounds great Cali, it's just that I love you so much, I really want you to go out with me, you get what I'm saying. I'll wait for you, you know where to find me right? I don't want you to do all that walking though, maybe you should just give me your number. "
She quickly shook her head, disagreeing.
" It's alright Harry, I'll come find you okay. Just sit tight and wait for me, okay? Don't come looking for me, I'll come to you. "
A shiver ran down my spine at her last phrase. God did I want her, it was almost to the point where I was obsessed. I quickly nodded my head, at this point I would have agreed to anything she said. Anything to make my angel happy. I nodded my head I agreement, my loose curls flying around. I gave her one last smile, my heart still racing in my chest as I stepped out the door.
I had finally gotten a date with my precious angel.
