It was raining. But it usually was in Ikebukuro. It's a quiet city but only if you live there long enough to know the flow of the people and its routine. Which Izaya does. The boy who knew everything about his city. All the way down to the hairs counted on some of his enemy's heads. Izaya had his hood up to shield his perfect hair from the rain. Tho it was looking a little longer lately. Shinra asked if he wanted to get it cut. He had been shutting himself out lately. Going back into his cage to observe the observers. It was a hateful job. He had been targeted lately. Shinra didn't want him being alone since last attack where he was shot in the leg. It had healed mostly but he still limped a little and it effected his running. Izaya didn't rest letting himself heal. Pushing himself past limitations taking on the title as God. Untouchable, Perfection. A flesh wounds meant nothing. Hands in his pockets the left pocket began to vibrate as a panicking clients shaking voice rang in Izayas left ear. Just some unknown drug dealer no one could care less about. Izaya had promised his dealings would be safe if giving the information to get the best money.

"I went to the right street Izaya then I ran into that Shizuo guy. It's real fucked up man. This has to be your fault. You sent that crazy blond after me Izaya. I'm done for but I swear on my last breath I'm taking you down with me." The client screamed on the other side of the phone then hung up aggressively.

With a evil grin he always wore Izaya was about to respond but that's when it happened. His life was going to change forever. He lost his breath as a deep pain came from his back. Looking down a clean cut blade was sticking out of his chest. Just under his heart. The blade cut the lower part or the organ and cut into his lung just a clean cut attacking the two organs his lung got the worst of it. He lost his breath. So each less and shocked. He hood was pulled off by the stranger he never saw a face.

"Sorry Izaya but you had this coming. See you in hell." The attacker said. His voice was a bit grough as if he smoked. Yet his breath smelled like mints.

The blade slipped back and the attacker vanished. Izaya gasped and coughed chocking on his own blood. He panted a arm on the wall holding him up. He put pressure on his wound his his other arm hoping he could walk to a hospital. It wouldn't be far. He was getting dizzy. How could he walk. He was starting to doubt himself. One step as a time he would lean into buildings leaving a bloody trail in the rain. He coughed and wheezed hoping for his heart to keep on beating. The pain was unlike anything he has ever felt. It was unexplainable and he knew he would probably die this rainy night. But he didn't care he was still going to fight.

Not to far behind a blond tall man wearing a bartender outfit lit his 5th cigarette that day undercover a bit shielded from the rain so he could use both hands for a moment. It had been a long day. But not to stressful. He picked up the umbrella and headed for home letting out a loud sigh after beating the shit out of some drug dealers. They pissed him off so he broke their bones. The rain was coming down hard. He squinted behind his blue glasses at the blood trail.

"geez what a mess what up with this city these days. I blame that bastard of a flea." Shizuo grumbles as he followed the trail. "least I can do is see whatever the hell this is"

Least he could do was help. He walked along side it. His feet splashed in the mixed water. He looked up dropping his cigerette in the water. And growled.

"Izzzzzaaaaayyyyyyaaaaaa " he yelled as the smaller man flinched and whispered something" huuuh what was that ass hole. Oh right probably some smart comment from your wise ass" Shizuo yelled.

"mmmhmm n...No.... I...." Izaya panted trying not to fall over. "I..have... To.... Go Shizu-chan" Izaya mumbled pointing to the hospital weakly.

Shizuo was taken back. He wanted to get ever second of this. He laughed loudly the sound ringing in Izayas ears rattling his brain. He was already stressed out. Shizuo ripped up a stop sign. He pushed Izaya with it. Izaya made some horrid noise. Shizuo had never heard before taking the blond man back a moment. The pain his enemy was feeling was real. And he was convinced now. He watch the flea keep himself from falling over. It had to be the most pathetic state Shizuo had ever seen Izaya in. His long time rival. His enemy since middle school. Crumbling before him. It felt so rewarding but almost wrong. He watched Izaya push himself further.

"What the hell are you doing? Just give up. Your finished and you know it." Shizuo yelled pushing him with the stop sign again just to hear Izaya cry out in pain. "You had what's coming to you brat. And you know it. So hurry up and die so I can watch." Shizuo yelled behind Izaya.

"n...No.... I can't... Leave my city yet.... I also.... Refuse to give up Shizu-chan " Izaya mumbled and coughed into his hand blood dripped from his fingers.

He could feel the wounds getting worse the more he moved. He wasn't going to make it. The cut in his lung was getting bigger the more he gasped for air. His heart pounding didnt help much either. He looked down at the ground with his grin which took Shizuo by surprise. He looked at Shizuo with a smile it was real and one he never wore in his life.

"I have to look after my Shizu- Chan. Even if he hits me with stuff" Izaya said clearly then let his body give out.

Shizuo dropped the sign and dove taking the fall so Izaya would end up on top of him. He lay on the side walk for a moment in shock looking down as his panting enemy. He scooped up the info broker and walked into that hospital. What he was doing he had no idea. But his life would change forever. It was going to be a very long night.
