It's been a year since most of the pack Alphas and Betas were murdered, and I'm of age now to go on the Aetoph also called a 'Mate Run'. Where all the Were's go on a 'run' with all the other packs in the state, hoping to meet their mate. I have to go now, since I'm 18. I could have went last year, but decided not to. But I have to go, I have to have a Luna for my pack.

"L.A. we have to go we'll be late for the meeting!"

"Okay, coming Tai." That meeting, wow, I've always hated crowds, but that party, oh my Goddess. I'm going to have a heart attack! Well, at least Tai and Fern will be there..

* * * * * *two hour l8r*

"Davin, what's that smell? It smells awsome."

"I-I don't know, I'll try to place it, but for now I need to think. Too many people."

"Kay dude." I felt my wolf shudder and move to the back of my mind. I walked to the office because I was next.

"Finally, we've been here for an hour!" my wolf scoffed. The lady sent me and my Omega, Fern, with the other Alphas and their Omegas. I was late, so I walked alone, but I didn't care. I just wanted to arrange this and leave.

Goddess, why are we still here? There are too many alphas here, it's fine to me, but my wolf has been yelling at me and wimpering for the past hour. I was getting a headache.

"Why are you being so annoying!?" I yelled at Nolan, breaking our link off.

"I'm going to stand outside a minute." I whispered to Valintine across the table.

"'Kay, hurry." I got up quickly and started to leave. I got halfway when Nolan's yips started again and another Alpha walked in, the last one. Meeting time, absolutely exciting, not a burden at all! (Note sarcasm) He's not what I expected, pretty red and silver (half and half) hair. He had one beautiful green and another brown eye, I was so entranced by him I didn't the notice other Alphas starting to greet him. I didn't notice him staring back at me, all I saw was him then I heard my wolf again.

"Mate! Maaate!" He yipped.

What? My mate is a guy? I was accepting it, but he looked like it's the most absurd and curious thing in the world, I finally jumped to reality and heard him, noticing how pale he was..

"M-Mate? Wha-" he started, but his knees buckled. All eyes were on us as I grabbed him swiftly, so he didn't fall. I stared into his eyes, I could tell he was talking with his wolf. I laughed to myself about how he was acting, but also I was refraining from yelling, Are you okay!? at him. Then he fainted, I gasped as his body went limp, but caught him. I looked around at the field of worried and confused eyes, I found Valintine and called him over. He helped me take him to the pack doctors who were here. I also called for ours and we checked him out. He examined my mate and declared to myself he was fine, just as four people ran down the hall and the biggest tried to take him from me, I growled. He glared at me.

"And what rank are you ,runt?" He sneered.

"I'm an Omega." I said, glaring back at him.

"Omega!"he laughed,"You dare growl at a Beta? Heh, put my Alpha down now, before I tear off your ugly mug."

"No."

"No?!" He fumed, "Im gonna give you one more chan-"

"NO HE'S MINE!" I cut him off, seething through clenched teeth. Nolan was pissed, I knew my eyes were jet black and my claws and canines were coming out. I couldn't hold it in this is my mate. Fucking Mine.
No one else's.
Just Mine.
I knew enough, I had to keep my mate to myself.
