Lost at Home

Prologue

2 thousand years ago, humanity waged nuclear war on itself and decimated the populations of Earth. The global event now known as "The Rise of Humanity" caused the remaining few thousand survivors to launch a never before rocket launch. this rocket launch wasn't like the rocket launch that annihilated the vast majority of the human race, but it was a launch into space with whatever technology humanity could salvage in hopes of surviving on the desolate, yet safer, planet of mars. The humans slowly built air-tight, pressurized shelters and began to farm potatoes in the soil using human waste as fertilizer, they then began to look for new ways to expand. They began to build more and more shelters and the population began to increase to the point where what they had could no longer sustain them and they needed an atmosphere. The Russians began a mining operation while the Americans explored. The Europeans began to build a global government to govern all the in habitants of their new home. There was peace among the humans for the first time in history. 

This peace and teamwork forced humans to work together to establish an electromagnetic field on the planed allowing for the creation of an atmosphere. They then found large mineral deposits on the planet that led to technological advance allowing for space travel once again. Humans were now able to travel between earth and mars to reclaim animals and lost technology and were able to become self sufficient. 

After humanity's dependancy on earth ended,  the government decided that space travel to the old planet was to come to an end in order for the planet to heal from the horrors humanity had caused.

500 years after Earth had been cut off from human contact it began to reclaim what it lost to the humans. While the Earth was healing, humanity began to hate once again. the unified planet broke into 6 warring nations and militaries were formed. land was lost and gained as humanity became human once again. Warfare created a cause for technology to further progress but with this progress came consequences. 

After hundreds of years of war and technological advances, Mars began to fade as a planet much like Earth had. this deterioration of the planet caused for a search of new worlds to conquer before the planet Mars was in ruins much like Earth was. The search was led by a group that called themselves "The Reclaimers" who governed themselves and were independent from all the other nations. This group of explorers consisted of the greatest scientists of each nation and was a haven for soldiers who didn't want anything to do with Mars's politics. one of these soldiers was none other than Zephyr, slayer of a hundred men.

Zephyr was known as the slayer of a hundred men as he would go into battle wearing is night black suit and slid behind enemy lines slaughtering men by the dozens. the only warning sign Zephyr gave was the cool breeze that followed with him as he moved. He hated politics and would fight battles alongside whichever cause he agreed with at the time. then after the formation of The Reclaimers he joined the exploratory group in hopes of leaving humanity behind and exploring new realm without the nuisance of politics.

Zephyr was assigned a dozen marines, a ship, as well as a scientist to explore and evaluate the vast expanse of space. Reclamation team Alpha left Mars in hopes to find another home.
