I checked my room once more, making sure I got everything. "Bye room. I'll miss you!" I slammed the door behind me. I picked up my suitcase and heaved it downstairs.

"Do you need help with that?" my dad asked. "No, Dad. I got it." I pulled it down one more step, and gasped for air. I didn't realize that I packed that much!

"Honey, have some breakfast before you go." My mom handed me a plate of eggs and bacon.

"No thanks. It's too late for breakfast." I gave her back the plate.

The doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" I sang. I ran to the door, and opened it with full force. It was Val. She was texting with one hand, while the other held her bag. Her dad came from behind, carrying three full size bags. "Valerie! How much did you pack!" She looked up.

"This is nothing. After all, we're going to London!" She started jumping up and down, clapping.

......

"Passengers, please fasten your seat belts. We'll be landing in Chicago in ten minutes," the intercom blared. I fastened my seat belt and looked at the time. 6:30 pm. The connecting flight to London will be departing at 7:00. "Val. Val. Wake up," I whispered. I gently shook her, knowing that she must be exhausted. "Val. Wake up!" I said louder. Val opened her eyes and began to moan. She stretched, but her hands hit the ceiling hard. "Crap!" She noticed the sun setting outside her window. "What time is it?" I looked at my watch again. "6:34," I replied.

Val nodded and took out her iPhone. "You need to listen to One Direction. Their actually not that bad."

"I'm sorry but we're about to land. All electronic devices should be off," an air hostess told Val.

"Sorry, it's my fault," I apologized. The air hostess smiled, showing her lipstick stained teeth. "It's okay. Now please fold your trays for landing."

I threw the phone into Val's overweight purse. "Watch it," she hissed. The turbulence soon began. Everything shook. I closed my eyes and held on to Val's hand. This is what I hate about flights.

I finally opened my eyes. The flight landed. I checked the time. It was 6: 43! "Crap! Val! Our next flight leaves at 7:00!" I quickly unbuckled my seat belt as soon as the seat belt sign disappeared. I stood up and pulled mine and Val's luggage out of the overhead compartment. Val pushed the people in front of me and we got out of the plane. Val and I ran to the gate. "What's the time?"

"9:58!" I screamed. We were only 1 more gate away.

"We're here!" Val announced to the gate lady. We reached the door and I slammed our tickets on the counter.

The lady gave us back our tickets. "I'm sorry, but the gate is closed. You may want to consider coming an hour before the flight than 1 minute after the flight."

"You cannot do that!"

"It's okay, they're with me."

We turned around to the husky guy.

I looked at Val, but her eyes were wide. "Oh my gosh! You're Zayn!" She started screaming and searching for something in her bag. "Can I please have your autograph!?" She took out a pen and paper. The so-called Zayn smiled and signed it for her.

"OMG! I feel like I'm going to faint!" Val took the paper back and started hugging it. "If you really are with him, please give me your plane tickets and passports," the lady interrupted.

I shook Valerie to reality and gave the lady our passports and tickets. She took it to her computer and clicked among the keyboard. After an awkward minute or two, she finally returned, holding three boarding passes. "I'm sorry, but due to the late entrance for the three of you, we had to make last minute seating arrangements." She gave us the tickets and finally opened the flight door. I looked at our tickets once more. "Sorry, Valerie. I'm not sitting next to you," I gave her her ticket, and entered the gate. I hardly doubt she noticed me since she was all over "Zayn".

I entered the flight, and immediately started regretting it. Everyone seemed to hate me. After all, it was my fault that their flight got delayed. I finally found my seat and sat down.

Luckily, I wasn't sitting next to anyone, which meant that  I could invite Valerie to sit there. I looked down the row for Val. She was nowhere in sight. My thoughts quickly disappeared as I heard a British voice talking to me. "May I sit here? I gave your friend my ticket," Zayn politely asked. I moved to the window seat, leaving the seat for him. "Passengers, we will now begin taking off. Please stay seated until the seat belt sign is off. Thank you!" the intercom blared. I buckled my seat belt, but noticed that Zayn was stealing glances at me.

"Umm...Thanks for what you did out there." I looked down and felt his chocolate brown eyes staring at my neck. "You're welcome. I'm Zayn," he held out his hand in a friendly gesture. My heart began to race."I'm Ella." I gently shook his hand in return. I heard a giggle escape his lips. "No need to be rude, but that's such an old fashioned name."

"It's okay. My parents are a bit old fashioned," I replied. He nodded as if he completely understood.

The flight began moving. It was smooth at first, but suddenly started shaking. I closed my eyes and held on to the arm rest tightly.

"It's okay. Hold on to my hand," a velvet voice whispered. Without thinking twice, I took his hand and held it tightly. It was soft, warm, and oddly, fit perfectly into my hands. I felt my fingers tingling. This reminded me a lot of...." I slowly let go of Zayn's hand. He looked at me, surprised. "Do you have a boyfriend?" he asked slowly. His face looked worried.

"No. It's not that. I just...have a cold," I fake-coughed into my hand.

"So, why are you visiting London?" he asked. "It was a birthday present. My friend and I are just visiting"

"Oh really? That's cool."

"Yeah but it's not too cool to be walking with our tour guides we bought at Barnes and Nobles."

He chuckled.

"Well I'm just gonna doze off. Still in L.A time. Night."

"Night," Zayn replied.
