Arya Fields If you want to live,
use 4377 and 659 North Morris Park. Come Alone.
What did this note mean? How did they know my name? And more importantly, was I going to die? These questions flooded my head, and even worse, I did not have an answer to any of them.
I could not process the discomforting letter, so I thought that if I just sleep on it, maybe I will understand the letter better when I wake up.
So I slipped into some pajamas and tucked myself under my covers. Then I was out.
...
I woke up, but I was not in my bed or even in my room. I was outside. In the forest, but how did I get here? It was a cloudy night. I felt like, I have been here, but I don't remember where I remember this from. As I walked past the vast area full with trees. I could hear the owls howling and the leaves cracking under my feet. Then all of the sudden I hear a loud noise coming from the distance. Then out from the bushes came a large snake.
"Oh no I am having the snake dream again. Arya, wake up, wake up."
"Its not working"
The snake came closer and closer.
"Stoppppppp!"
"Arya stop what?"
"Oh mom, hi, why are you in my room? Were you watching me sleep because if you are, no offense, that is kinda creepy.."
"First off, I am your mother so I have the right to be in your room and secondly, I heard you screaming so I came into your room to see what was going on."
"Oh, it was just another bad dream that's all.
"Alright, just know if you need to talk about anything, just let me know, ok."
"Ok, Goodnight mom."
"Goodnight sweetie."
...
As soon as I woke up, all I could think about is why I got the snake dream again.
"I thought I got rid of these eerie dreams."
I quickly sat up and slipped on some clothes for school. I headed towards the kitchen to grab breakfast and acknowledge my mom.
"Arya you need to leave, you're late."
I was not stressed because being late to school was normal, but I needed to talk to Ivy.
"I will be fine mom, geez stop being such a worrisome."
"Excuse me, you do not have the right to talk to your mother like..."
" You know what, I am going to be late, bye mom."
"Arya, get back here now we have to talk about this."
"Sorry mom, I am going to be late for school."
I rushed out the door, trying to avoid another argument with my mother.
...
As I got to school, I headed to Ivy's locker, as usual.
"Ivy, I had the snake dream again, but I thought I got rid of them."
" That's weird, maybe, did you experience something weird before you went to sleep, because I usually have bad dreams if I am confused or stressed before bed?"
"Actually, yes, thank you, uh I have to go to class, but talk later."
"Um, ok."
I rushed to my first period, but all I could think about was the letter I received. What if that letter caused my bad dream, what if they were related. Throughout the rest of the school day I ran through all the possibilities that lead to getting the bad dream, but they all lead to the letter. Ugh, why am I so obsessed with this note that could potentially just be a prank because everyone one wants to prank the poor and isolated girl.
As school ended I did not even think to meet up with Ivy. I ran the whole way to my house. It was a ruff journey. I tripped over some rocks and sidewalks.
Whammmmm
" Oh my, I am so sorry"
"Ahhhhhh, AHHHHHHH"
"Oh no, don't scream, please don't scream."
"ARE YOU TRYING TO ABDUCT MY CHILD? GET AWAY FROM HER!"
"No ma'am, I was rushing to get home and she walked in front of me, and I hit her."
"Don't blame this on my daughter, you need to leave, NOW!"
I quickly got up and ran as fast as I could to my house, but making sure to watch my path for any more children.
As I walked into my house, I cleaned up the bruises that covered my leg. They were so bad that the slightest of touch would cause a raging pain in my leg. After cleaning up, I walked into my room and found the note lying on my bedside table. I opened it up and examined it.
" If I want to live."
I can't just toss away this note, I need to follow what it says. Besides what's the worst that could happen.
I am horrible at directions. Usually I get lost, so Ivy always controls directions. This time was different though, because I did not have Ivy. Apparently I am suppose to go alone, so it took me a couple of wrong turns to finally reach the area where the note wanted me to go.
As I approached the place where the note took me, I came upon a dark alleyway.
I felt as if every inch closer I got to the darkness, the hairs on my arms would stick up and I felt my body starting to cover in goosebumps. The brick that aligned the alley way were green, and moldy, which caused my to gag just a little. As I came to the end of the alley, there was a dead end.
Seriously, a dead end. I anticipated something cool, especially because I came all the way over here by myself.
I reexamined the note for any extra clues. The only other information on the piece of paper was 4377. Maybe there is a secret door, so I quietly whispered to the brick wall...
"4377."
Nothing happened.
I did it again but much louder.
"4377."
Nothing.
I decided to try one more time because hey, third time's a charm.
"4377"
Nothing.
As I started to head back to the light, I heard a noise behind me.
As I turned around, I noticed that the door, opened.
